🤱🤎When a woman breastfeeds, it naturally delays ovulation and menstruation. Even if your menstrual cycle has resumed, you must take a variety of medications and hormones for the embryo transfer that are not safe for breastfeeding.
Therefore, we want surrogates to have weaned and have at least one menstrual cycle before we begin the medical portion of your surrogacy journey.

📋Becoming a gestational surrogate is a major decision, and we encourage you to take your time figuring out if it’s a good fit for you.

Here are some things to consider:

1. You’ll need to have a healthy BMI, a history of uncomplicated pregnancy and childbirth, and be free of certain medical conditions. A full medical and psychological screening will be part of the process.

2. Surrogacy is deeply emotional. You must be mentally prepared to carry a baby for someone else, then part with the child after birth. A strong support system and a clear understanding of your “why” are essential.

3. Pregnancy affects your time, energy, and routine. If you have children, a job, or other commitments, it’s important to consider how a surrogacy journey will fit into your life and impact your household.
