In what way can you reframe the narrative on one of your old stories, in order to free yourself and move on?

We tend to tell ourselves (and others) very dramatic stories about our disappointments and struggles. We may find ourselves repeating these narratives over and over, elaborating each time. All the while we don't recognize how this keeps us trapped in the pain and struggle of the past.

After my second child was born, I went through a financial situation that brought me fear and stress for quite a while. I can describe this situation in different ways.

"I went through a rough and frightening time when I was absolutely drowning in financial stress and almost lost my home."

or

"I experienced a financial situation that taught me how to have a much healthier relationship with money and showed me how capable I am at overcoming big, unexpected challenges."

Which narrative keeps me locked into the pain and limitations of the past, and which narrative allows me to feel grateful and empowered?

Can you flip the switch on one of your old narratives?

Why does comparing ourselves to others come so naturally?

What does another person's life or journey have to do with ours?

Why does it seem like we always compare our worst with other people's best?

Life doesn't have to be seen as a competition. There is MORE than enough for everyone. We are always right where we need to be, within our own journey. When we truly embrace that, we realize that comparing our lives to others robs us of our happiness and self esteem for no reason.

Forgiveness is for YOU, not the one who has wronged you.

In Anita Moorjani's book, Dying to Be Me, she talks about a new perspective she was granted concerning perceived "wrongs"in her human experience.

In her near death experience, she was able to see the intricate weaving of the tapestry of her life. She saw how every thread woven into the tapestry of her human existence had been perfectly orchestrated, perfectly placed, in allowing her to become her highest version of herself. She even saw how a childhood bully had helped to mold and shape her and allowed her the lessons her soul desired.

When someone wrongs us, it is tempting to remain in a spiteful place. At the time, it seems right to cling to anger and resentment.

But when you are able to say, "I forgive you," you are proclaiming that you are open to receiving the lesson that is embedded in this experience and that you claim it for your soul's growth. You have also made the decision to release yourself from the negativity.

You make a powerful choice to cling to only joy and only peace in your existence.

AFFIRM: "I release all anger and resentment toward you. You are free and I am free."

Sometimes it's the smallest habits that, if adopted, can propel us toward our goals. It's also daily habits that can keep us stuck.

Take the time to examine your daily habits and decide if they bring you closer to your wellness goals. If not, then why are they allowed to stick around?

Set the tone

Did you ever notice how an event or encounter early on in the day can affect your mood and outlook for hours? Maybe even the rest of the day?

Do you realize that YOU can set the tone for your day?

Being in alignment with wellness means that you deliberately set the tone to one that is a match to your goals and true self.

I found that I was struggling with mornings, almost daily. In fact, when my alarm clock would go off, I would sometimes utter an expletive as my first word of the day! Definitely not a helpful practice.

When I wake up now, I deliberately choose my words and thoughts carefully. With consistency, these words and thoughts can become a helpful habit.

I spend a minute or two finding something to be grateful for and thinking of something to look forward to... even if it is something as simple as using my favorite mug for a delicious cup of coffee. I also say a quick prayer before I leave my bed.

That simple, two-minute exercise makes a tremendous impact on my outlook and my mood for the day.

How will you deliberately set the tone for your day? For your life?

If you've been wearing yourself out doing everything for others, it's time to take a moment for yourself. It's wonderful to have a desire to be helpful and to take care of those you love. But, it's not ok to ignore your own needs. If you allow yourself to become completely depleted, it can create problems with your health, build resentment and anger in your mind, and diminish your spirit.

What will you do today to bolster yourself? It doesn't have to be a huge thing, but find a few moments to put yourself first.

You 100% deserve to be prioritized and cared for. 💖💖

If you haven't begun to use affirmations as part of your wellness journey, you are missing out! Positive affirmations are an essential element when shifting into a wellness mindset.

People sometimes resist using positive affirmations because they don't "feel true." But, this is exactly why we DO need to use them. Our minds are very accustomed to the negative and limiting thoughts we play and repeat, play and repeat. The more we rehearse the negative thoughts, the more familiar and true they feel, but that doesn't make them correct!

✨A belief is just a thought you've had over and over.✨ (Read that again). Your thoughts are powerful because they literally CREATE your beliefs. What if you purposely chose thoughts that turned into joyful, beautiful, and empowering beliefs about yourself?

Start affirming your value, your strength, your abilities today and stop worrying about whether they feel true. A daily practice will make them become truer than you can imagine. 💗

Self-care doesn't have to be complex or time consuming!

What is one small thing you can do TODAY?

Can you follow through on a promise you made to yourself?

Can you try saying NO when you might otherwise feel obligated to say yes?

Will you take a moment to appreciate how incredible you are right now, without the need to change?
