I obtained a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2008 from Maryville University of St. Louis and am always striving to build upon my clinical knowledge with the newest evidence-based practice. I started my mobile, cash-based practice in February 2016. I am a wife, a mom of 3 boys, and have been a life-long athlete. My professional career includes a strong background in outpatient orthopedics, inc
luding certification in Graston Technique for instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, FMT Level 1 & 2 certification in functional movement assessment and corrective exercise, extensive manual therapy skills, 2 certifications in kinesiotaping (RockTape), Reiki I Practitioner, and I am an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor. My athletic background includes over 20 years of boxing, kickboxing, volleyball, and running, but I've also put many years into jiu-jitsu, weight lifting, softball, and soccer. I love being a Physical Therapist!! I can treat patients of any age, from newborn to 100+!! But I have found my niche in helping people become active again, particularly athletes or those wanting to return to an active lifestyle. I take a lot of pride in my ability to develop a strong trust and long-standing relationship with my patients. Often times, my past patients become life-long friends.. Another unique part of my practice is that I can come to wherever you are (home, office, etc.) or we can even meet at the gym!! Physical Therapy may not be the most fun thing on your agenda for the day, but we can at least make it convenient and have a little fun along the way. Insurance is changing. Insurance companies, inevitably, are making it more difficult for Physical Therapists to make a profit due to decreasing reimbursement rates. For most outpatient Physical Therapy clinics to survive, each Physical Therapist needs to see more and more patients per day. For the patient, that means your PT has less time available to spend with you...and it's not because they're bad, or neglectful, but because they have to see more patients in order to pay the bills. My business model allows me to break down the barriers of insurance to provide you a more personal and comprehensive PT experience. For a flat fee per session, my patients will receive a full hour of my undivided attention to assess their dysfunction, treat the problem, and provide appropriate education for the future. My goal is always to set you up for success and for my patients to feel that they got more than their money's worth in quality of care, pain relief, and instruction in self-care. I provide a receipt post-treatment for the patient to submit a self-claim to their insurance, so they can get paid back for that visit. Typically, insurance companies will pay you back at out-of-network rates, which usually ends up being about a normal co-pay (considering my rate per session is discounted in comparison to typical charges). Please contact your insurance company for details about your healthcare benefits. And of course, I am always here to help you with the insurance process, even though I don't take payment directly from them. Although you're bummed that your doctor told you that you need Physical Therapy, I would absolutely love to help you make the experience as quick and as painless as possible. I love people getting back to what they love to do, whether you're a high level athlete who just had surgery, you're a doting grandma that can't pick up her new grandbaby because of that rotator cuff injury, or a dad that hurt his back after getting back into your workout routine. Whatever your issue, please contact me and we will get you on the road to recovery!! Sincerely,
Kelly McCormick, MPT
