Donna Mae (Knief) Felderman of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away on August 10, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by her family. Donna was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and grace touched everyone who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be from 4:00 -7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bellevue. An additional visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday, prior to services at church. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bellevue.
Donna was born on September 13, 1940, in Bellevue. She was the daughter of William and Lillian (Hueneke) Knief. Donna graduated from Bellevue High School in 1957. She married her husband of 66 years, Willard Felderman, on June 20, 1959 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in St. Donatus. They settled in Bellevue, where they raised their four children.
Donna enjoyed her family, supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities, winters in Arizona, playing cards, cooking, crafting and quilting. Her quilts were more than fabric and thread; they were gifts of love. Donna was also a part of the Women’s Group at St. John Lutheran Church, PEO and the Bellevue Bread Basket.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lillian (Hueneke) Knief, her brother Verle Knief and sister-in-law Lorraine Knief, sister Loreen Schoop and brother-in-law Emil Schoop. Brothers and sisters-in-law Marvin (Betty) Felderman, Donald (Mary) Felderman and Robert Felderman.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Felderman; children Keith (Susan) Felderman, Jane (Marty) Frank, Kevin (Melissa) Felderman, and Jodi (Craig) Murray; grandchildren Norman Taylor, Warren Frank, Sara (Carter) Meyer, Nicole (Matt) Dowling, Kayla (Adam) Mueller, Reece Murray, Luke Murray and great-grandson Cooper Meyer.
Donna’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, in the traditions she passed down, and in the beauty of the quilts she left behind.

Dale A. Grewe, 83, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home.
A funeral service with Military Honors, conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273, will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM prior to the service.
Dale was born on February 12, 1942, in Des Plaines, Illinois, to Arthur and Gertrude (Kunz) Grewe. He served honorably in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. Dale was a proud member of the Bellevue American Legion Post #273.
On October 7, 1990, Dale married Mary Lu Bees in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2013. Dale enjoyed a long career with Centel Telephone Corporation in the Chicago area before retiring and relocating to Bellevue in 2005.
In his retirement, Dale found joy in a variety of hobbies, including playing cards, fishing, boating, and bird watching. He was an avid fan of westerns and loved spending time on the river and taking peaceful golf cart rides. Above all, Dale cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness, along with his close circle of friends.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Kristyn Andersen; grandchildren Chris (Becky), Amanda (Nick), Tony, and Amber; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Hanna, Ben, Rebecca and Kaleb. He is also survived by his bonus family, Laurie Burnett, Danny Teichler, Felix Thielen, and Jennifer Griffith.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Mary Lu, his daughter Robin, and his cherished cat, Butter Cup.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Friday, August 1, 2025 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be 9:30 am until Mass on Friday at church. Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Springbrook.

Delores was born on August 5, 1934 in rural Jackson County, the daughter of Peter and Rose (Leuchs) Stillmunkes. She married Verdis Hoffman on June 16, 1953 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue. Verdis passed away on October 22, 2013.
She graduated from St. Joe's High School in 1951. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Bellevue. Delores and Verdis were co-founders of the annual Springbrook Pork Roast and was an active member in her church. She also worked at Hodoval's Drug Store and Tillman's Variety Store in Bellevue, Clinton Engines in Maquoketa and Cornelius Seed Corn in Andrew. The job she took most pride in was working side by side with her husband on the farm and raising her 6 children. Delores and Verdis did Farmer's Market in Bellevue for many years. Delores did the baking from cookies, pies, breads, rolls and bars. Both of them enjoyed meeting many people during the market season and by the end of the season they called them friends. Delores also loved playing cards with her wonderful Springbrook, Andrew, Maquoketa and LaMotte friends. She prided herself when she took her coconut cream pie for potlucks in Goose Lake. Delores liked playing bingo and looked forward to her Tama bingo trips every year.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Karen (Jeff) Wells of Maquoketa, Iowa, Kathy (Steve) Tebbe of Bellevue, Iowa and Karla (Lynn) Kilburg of Springbrook, Iowa, 3 sons, Kevin (Nina) Hoffman of Charlotte, Iowa , Keith Hoffman of Maquoketa, Iowa and Kurtis Hoffman of Dubuque, Iowa. She is survived by 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great- grandchild on the way and brother Glen Stillmunkes of Bellevue.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter-in-law, Rachel Hoffman, brothers Cletus Stillmunkes, Raymond Stillmunkes, Eugene Stillmunkes and Eldon Stillmunkes and granddaughter, Kaitlin Rose Wells.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Mill Valley Care for the compassionate care she was given during her brief stay. Thank you to all of her friends for making sure Mom had a ride to her many outings.

James “Jim” Meier, 78 of Bellevue, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm (Noon), Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 pm (Noon) at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273 will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.
Jim was born May 30, 1947, the son of Leo and Mavis (Sprank) Meier. He graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1965. Jim served his County during Vietnam Era in the U.S. Army National Guard. Jim met Dorothy Klein when he was 10 years old at country school. Dorothy and Jim later were engaged during Christmas of 1975 and married on June 12, 1976, she passed early this year on March 2, 2025. He farmed on the family farm in rural Bellevue for over 50 years. Jim enjoyed car cruising with the Main Street Cruisers in his 1967 GTO. Jim and Dorothy enjoyed many adventures and trips throughout the Midwest. Jim never met a stranger and enjoyed telling stories and visiting.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Meier and John Meier; sibling, Mark Meier, Lynn Meier, and Kevin (Karla) Meier; a sister in-law, Mary (Doyle) Roos and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; mother and father in-law, Margaret and Harry Klein; a brother in-law, Dennis Klein; and a sister in-law, Helen Klein.

Algean V. (Berthel) Nemmers, sister, mother, a beloved grandmother and great grandmother and friend passed away on July 17 2025, at the age of 91 in Bellevue, Iowa.
Funeral Mass for her and her son Duane “Minnow” Nemmers will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be 9:00 am – 10:30 am, prior to Mass at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.
Algean was born on December 3, 1933, the daughter of Alex and Bernice (Po***ck) Berthel. She graduated from LaMotte Holy Rosary High School in 1951. Algean married Virgil Nemmers, July 18, 1953 at St John’s Catholic Church in Andrew, he passed on January 19, 2008. Together they raised 5 children.
Algean worked at Younkers, The Big D and Eska Company later retiring to enjoy traveling with Virgil, volunteering at St. Joseph’s Daycare and Marquette’s hot lunch program, spending many hours at the family cabin; enjoying their pontoon on the Mississippi River, she loved playing euchre with family and friends and baking cookies in her kitchen for her grandkids.
Survivors include her children, Larry (Deb) Nemmers, Mary Beth (Rick) Michels all of Bellevue Iowa and Joe (Judy) Nemmers of Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great expecting; sister in-laws, Pat Berthel, Beverly, Leota and Lois Nemmers and a brother in-law Dale Wilming.
Algean was preceded in death by her husband Virgil, her parents, her sisters, Lyda (Pete) Herrig and Mary Lou (George) Mottet, a brother Donald Berthel, two son’s Darrell and Duane Nemmers, brother in-laws Alvin, Loras, Robert and Joseph Nemmers and a sister-in-law Shirley Wilming.
Algean’s family would like to thank Hospice of Jackson County and the staff at Mill Valley Care Center for your support and care during this time.

Ardell L. Hoff, 91, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away on July 7, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital in Dubuque, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, with an 8:00 a.m. wake service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.
Ardell was born September 16, 1933, in Bellevue, the son of Elmer and Rose (Bechen) Hoff. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1952. Ardell married Marian Wubben on September 27, 1958, at Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Menominee, Illinois. Ardell retired from John Deere Dubuque Works in 1992 after 33 years of service. After his retirement, Ardell worked for Petesch Construction installing windows. Ardell enjoyed engaging in conversation and helping others, especially through Young Living Essential Oils. His passions included traveling, working on cars and his Farmall tractor, attending air shows, and photography. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Marian; children, Steve (Chris) Hoff, Sharon (Brent) Scholtes, Sheila (Doug) Hefel, and Stuart Hoff; grandchildren, Brandon (Carrie), Alison (Jesse), Britni (Eric), and Audrey; a great-granddaughter, Lila; sisters, Phyllis Borcherding and Marilyn Wubben; brothers in-law, John Wubben and Joseph (Kris) Wubben; sisters in-law, Darlene Wubben, Lois Wubben, Rosella Hying, Agnes (Larry) Ter Maat, and JoAnn Winn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leo A. Kilburg, 89 of Bellevue, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm with visitation following until 7:00 pm, Monday, July 7, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. An additional visitation will be held from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at the funeral home prior to Mass on Tuesday. Burial with Military Honors conducted by Bellevue American Legion Post #273 will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Leo was born on January 15, 1936, in rural Bellevue on the family farm, the son of Dominic and Florence (Weis) Kilburg. He attended a country school and grew up with a strong sense of faith and family. He served his country in the US Army in France. On April 11, 1964, he married Janis Herrig at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. Together, they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and love.
Leo worked at Roeder's Implement until his marriage at which time he became a dedicated farmer. Leo and Janis raised their children on the farm west of Bellevue and in 1997 they retired from farming and moved into Bellevue. He then worked for Marquette Catholic School in the lunchroom for many years. Deeply committed to his Catholic faith he was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He attended Mass regularly and recited the Rosary daily. His quiet strength, steady presence, and warm heart will be dearly missed. He always loved a good Luxembourg conversation.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Janis; their children, Brian (Cindy) Kilburg of Clinton, Brenda Fox of Davenport, Karen Kilburg of Davenport, Mark (Sarah) Kilburg of Ryan, Lisa (Kevin) Hackenmiller of Springville, Cindy (Shane) Robertson of Springville and Julie Kilburg of Davenport. Nine grandchildren: Cameron Fox, Christina (Brandon) Rodier, Kyle (Emily) Kilburg, Ryan (Kelli) Kilburg, Jacob Kilburg, Lizzie Kilburg, Emily Robertson, Evan Robertson, Dylan Hackenmiller and a much anticipated great grandchild will be arriving in October. His siblings, Vera (Levi) Schmidt and Dula (Leon) Tebbe; sisters-in-law, Katie Kilburg, Jean Kilburg, Bette Herrig, Dori (Randy) Tuftee and brother-in-law Dan (Renee) Herrig. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dennis E. Schlarmann, 79 formerly of rural Preston, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Ramsey Village in Des Moines, IA. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Additional visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Monday morning at the Church prior to services. Burial with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion will be in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bellevue.

Dennis was born December 24, 1945 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Eugene and Imelda (Budde) Schlarmann and graduated from Marquette High School in Bellevue. Dennis married Rose Marie Pataska on June 29, 1968, she passed on November 8, 2013. After serving in the US Army, he worked for the Chicago Northwestern/Union Pacific railroads as a welder and carpenter, until retiring. Dennis spent much of his retirement crafting and woodworking, making beautiful projects for his family and friends. He loved spending time with family, especially his 5 grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, David Schlarmann (Shauneen Linton), Steven (Sally) Schlarmann, and Melissa (Ahmet) Senyurekli; grandchildren, Kirsten Schlarmann, Rowan Schlarmann, and Aydin, Leyla, and Teo Senyurekli; siblings, Sandy (Dick) Birch, Marlene (Greg) Hying, Mike (Sharon) Schlarmann, Brian (Arleigh) Schlarmann, and Barb (Doug) Stoughton; sisters and brothers in-law, Julie Schlarmann, Rochelle Pataska, Erma Labolabo Schlarmann, Dale (Judy) Pataska, Darrell (Ellen) Pataska, and John (Olinda) Pataska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose Marie; father and mother in-law, William and Marilyn Pataska; brothers, Dale Schlarmann and Al Schlarmann; sister, Roseann (Dave) Rammel, and brother in-law, Stan Pataska.

Ardell “Bud” Till, 91, of Bellevue, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 3 at 10:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Bud’s family will greet friends Wednesday, July 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue with a Bellevue Fire Department Walk through at 6:30 pm. Additional visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 prior to Mass at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.

Ardell was born January 28, 1934 in Bellevue. He was the son of Wilfred and Hilda (Sieverding) Till along with one brother and four sisters. He married his wife of 65 years, Joyce Weis, on October 3, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue where they raised their four children together.

Ardell graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1952. Upon graduation, he started working for his father as a mechanic at Till’s Garage. On January 3, 1973 he became co-owner with his father of Till’s Garage. He was honored to be the dealer-operator for Chevrolet for 40 years, and Buick for 50 years. Ardell was involved in and enjoyed many activities through the years, including a member of the Iowa Auto Dealers Association and over 20 years in the Bellevue Fire Department and the Bellevue 4th of July Heritage Days. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, golfing with his friends, attending and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, singing in the Church Choir, and singing in the High School Choir starting in 1948. Most of all, he loved traveling and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joyce; his children, Tim (Lisa) Till, Rick (Ann) Till, Steve “Fiz” (Renee) Till, and Amy (Glenn) Ernst; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marlene Hilgendorf, Darla (James) Krause, Jerry (Cheryl) Till, and Linda (Bill) Bednarz; a brother-in-law, David Kane.

Ardell was preceded in death by his parents; grandchild, Brandon Till; great-grandchild, Colton Ernst; sister, Mary Beschen; brothers in-law, Raymond Beschen, James Hilgendorf, and Eldon Weis; sisters in-law, Elaine Till and Colleen Kane; and a grandson in-law, Collin Long.
