If you haven’t exercised in a while…
If you’re perimenopausal and exhausted…
If life feels full and your nervous system is maxed out…

Heavy lifting, CrossFit, and cold plunges can wait.
Start with a walk.
Not the perfect program.
Just consistency.
Realistic sustainability.

Routinely walking can:
✨ Improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation
✨ Boost mood and cognitive clarity
✨ Strengthen immune function
✨ Lower your risk of breast cancer
✨ Reduce joint stiffness and prevent arthritis

Movement does not have to be extreme to be powerful.
Walking is not “less than.”
It’s foundational.
Start where you are.
And build momentum.

Research in environmental psychology shows that time in natural settings helps restore attention and reduce mental fatigue. A concept known as Attention Restoration Theory (ART). ART proposes that natural environments promote effortless, “soft fascination,” allowing the brain’s attention capacity to recover after sustained use. Studies have found improvements in cognitive performance like working memory and attentional control after exposure to nature.

This is my reminder to slow down and get outside.

Where do you feel most restored in nature? Share so I can visit one day 🌿🌊🌳🌍

Shifting hormones can reduce stress tolerance and amplify symptoms like poor sleep, mood changes, and hot flashes. Research shows stress and symptoms often reinforce each other, making daily regulation foundational to health.

After 2–4 weeks of daily regulation practice, do you see a positive trend with HRV or better sleep?

I’m still a work in progress but celebrating the little wins.

If stress feels harder to tolerate in midlife, it’s not a personal failure—it’s physiology.

Perimenopause is a period of significant neuroendocrine change. Fluctuating estrogen and progesterone levels influence neurotransmitters involved in mood and stress regulation, increasing vulnerability to stress-related symptoms.

Large studies show higher rates of anxiety, mood changes, sleep disruption, and vasomotor symptoms during this transition. Chronic stress can further worsen these symptoms, in part through sustained cortisol activation and inflammatory pathways.

Evidence-based interventions including mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), yoga, Tai Chi, breathwork, gratitude practices, and intentional pauses—have been shown to lower perceived stress and improve symptom burden in midlife women.

Holiday support > holiday perfection.

💾 Save this for when you’re tempted to reorganize your coat closet at midnight before guests arrive.

I eventually realized I didn’t need to find more time.
I needed to use the time I already had in a way that supported my physiology instead of draining it.

It isn’t about adding more to your plate.
It’s about changing how you support your body inside the life you already have.

If you could change one thing about your energy, what would it be?
