Freeze up at a doorway? You’re not alone, but there are simple tricks to help keep you moving.

Smart Strategies for Safer Steps:

➡️ Count out loud as you step
➡️ Clap or tap your thigh to reset your rhythm
➡️ Step big and wide through the doorway

And remember, assistive devices like canes and walkers are tools of independence, not a limitation. They can help you stay active, safe, and confident.

🏡 Make Your Home a Safer Place Today

Most falls for people with Parkinson’s happen right at home — but the good news is, many are preventable.

Start small with these easy steps:

- Clear clutter from walkways
- Remove loose rugs and cords
- Add brighter lighting in halls and bathrooms
- Install grab bars or railings where needed

Take just 5 minutes today to “fall-proof” one room in your home. Your future self will thank you!

The National Institute on Aging offers room-by-room fall prevention tips, check it out: https://www.nia.nih.gov/health/falls-and-falls-prevention/preventing-falls-home-room-room
