Sometimes the gym is about more than workouts.

Today, someone walked up to one of my clients and handed her this note:
“I see you working hard. It’s tough. Don’t quit! Proud of you.”

What they didn’t know is the story behind the person they gave it to.

She’s in her 70s.
A former physician who spent her life helping others.
Now she shows up week after week, working hard to stay strong, keep moving, and maintain her independence. Her goal is simple but powerful: stay strong enough so she doesn’t have to rely on her walker.

Every rep she does matters.
Every step she takes matters.
Every workout is a fight for independence.

And today, a complete stranger noticed.

This is what the world needs more of—people encouraging each other, lifting each other up, and recognizing the quiet battles people are fighting.

Fitness isn’t just about building muscle.
It’s about building strength for life.

I’m incredibly proud of her and the work she continues to put in. And to the person who left this note—you reminded us that a few kind words can mean everything. ❤️

A reminder as we step into a new year:

Progress doesn’t come from being hard on yourself.
It comes from choosing yourself — again and again.

Richard’s journey is a great example of what happens when you stay consistent, even on the days it feels slow.

Along the way:
• 21.8 lbs lost
• 4.7% body fat reduced

It’s normal to want to reboot your life + fitness goals come January 1. Before you go crazy with your New Year’s resolutions list, start with small and specific goals that can be built on after they’re implemented.

Pick one or two — but no more than three — that are compatible with your current fitness level, and won’t require super drastic changes to your schedule or lifestyle.

Here’s some sample resolutions to get you started!
1) Try a clean eating challenge, where you avoid processed foods and eat real, whole foods instead.
2) Cut soda from your diet.
3) Eat two extra servings of veggies every day for a month.
4) Cook healthy recipes at home four nights a week. Make a point to try one new recipe a week.
5) Do your daily FOD workout early in the morning; you’ll be less likely to schedule something over your exercise time, or not do it because a last-minute meeting came up.
6) Bring your lunch to work one day a week, then keep adding another day each week.
7) Limit the amount of sweetener you put in your coffee or tea. To start, reduce it by half.
8) Drink a glass of water every morning when you wake up.
