After 32 years as president of California Xray Imaging Services I am excited to announce I have sold the company to my largest supplier of Medical Imaging Products, Shimadzu Medical systems.

Shimadzu Medical Systems USA (SMS), a medical division of Shimadzu Precision instruments, Inc., which is a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation Japan (Shimadzu), has acquired California X-ray Imaging Services, Inc. (CIS) in order to further expand its Healthcare Business in North America.

Congratulations to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA, on the turnover of their FLUOROspeed X1 R/F system. SMS Applications Specialist Shawn Jent MHS RT(R) was on-site recently to provide training on their new system. The staff really appreciated the large gantry area of the X1 for bariatric patients and modified barium swallow exams because it allows you to move a wheelchair or stretcher between the table and deck without the need for patient transfers. Their staff was also pleased with the system's image quality and remarked about the advantages of the X1's elevating table, which makes patient loading and unloading much easier and safer.

We look forward to the staff at West Jefferson continuing to bond with their new X1 and discovering the benefits in workflow and performance that the BEST-IN-CLASS patient-side R/F system offers.
