We warmly invite everyone from across the nation and the world to join us for a special loving-kindness meditation session with the venerable monks and Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara.

This session will be livestreamed on our page and website so everyone can participate at the same time, no matter where you are in the world.
When thousands of hearts meditate together in the same moment, our collective loving-kindness ripples outward, touching hearts, healing wounds, and planting seeds of peace everywhere. Your presence matters. Your meditation matters. Your loving-kindness matters.

Learning the foundations of Mindfulness is helpful in guiding your practice. Although it can be overwhelming to put all the foundations in place (Dhamma) a beginner level yogi can start with the basics and spend time cultivating each foundation.
Often, I encourage others to start contemplation of the Body as it offers the most stability for our attention and a reason why it is the first. This is a place where many different types of practices can be explored; meditation on breath, five senses, body scans, Yoga, etc.

Just a kind reminder for this election season. Be mindful of what you post. When we start categorizing beings as “others” (left vs right), other than ourselves we move away from compassion. Lack of compassion often leads to hurtful, hateful behaviors that are believed justified. So be intentional with your word and actions. Although we can disagree, we are not “others”, we are all human beings that love and suffer together. We can cultivate compassion even in our differences.

Sometimes, when it feels as though it is all so overwhelming, we can help manage what is showing up, not by reverting to numbness but by reminding ourselves with a simple mantra “one day at a time”.

If that still feels too overwhelming, then “one hour at a time” “one minute at a time”. Sometimes it’s the only way to get through, stay here, and don’t disconnected.

We stay present with the moment, getting through the moment whatever it brings…just..that…moment.
