We’re celebrating an incredible milestone—Pam Lichtenberg’s 31 years of dedication to SGMC Health. 💙

Beginning her journey as a nurse, Pam built a foundation of compassion and patient-centered care that carried throughout her career. For more than three decades, she has made a lasting impact through her commitment, whether at the bedside or through her more recent work in Information Services. Her contributions have touched countless lives and helped shape the culture that defines our organization.

We’re so grateful for all she’s given and wish her a retirement filled with joy, rest, and everything she loves most.

National Trauma Awareness Month is coming to a close, but the work continues. 🚑

At SGMC Health, our Trauma Team remains ready for the moments no one plans for. From the first call in the field to emergency care, surgery, recovery, and follow-up, our multidisciplinary team works as one to deliver fast, coordinated, life‑saving care.

But trauma care goes beyond the bedside. Through data, education, and community partnerships, we’re working to prevent injuries before they happen—because many are predictable and preventable.

As we wrap up this month, we honor the strength of trauma patients and survivors, and we recognize the teams who stand ready every day to care for our community. ❤️

From the first “Is this normal?” to the final countdown, pregnancy is filled with meaningful moments, and having the right provider along the way makes all the difference. 🤰✨

This kind message from a grateful patient of OBGYN Victoria Johnson, MD, at SGMC Women's Health Oak Street says it best:

“Dr. Johnson has made my pregnancy experience feel so much less stressful and overwhelming. She takes the time to truly listen, answer questions thoroughly, and provide real, meaningful advice that makes me feel supported and cared for. Every appointment feels personal rather than rushed, and her kindness and professionalism always stand out. I’m very grateful to have an OBGYN who genuinely cares about her patients and creates such a comfortable environment. Highly recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone looking for compassionate and attentive care!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dr. Johnson, thank you for the comfort, clarity, and compassion you bring to every step of the journey. And to our Women’s Health teams, your care shapes some of life’s most important moments in the most meaningful ways. 💗

Getting answers about your sleep can be easier than you think. 💤

A grateful patient shared this about their experience with the SGMC Sleep Center:

“I opted to do the home sleep study. I went in for a tutorial session and got the equipment, did my study in the comfort of my own home, received a call the next morning to answer a few questions about my sleep that night, and it was done! It was a super smooth and easy process and all of the staff were sweet, informative, and answered all of my questions! I would definitely recommend to others!”

From sleep apnea and insomnia to restless nights and daytime fatigue, our Sleep Center offers both in-lab and at-home testing options to help you get answers and start sleeping better.

The day doesn’t start with “routine” in the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. It starts with readiness.

For Kelley Howell, RN, no two shifts in the MSICU are ever the same. One day may mean caring for a patient with sepsis, another may mean supporting someone through respiratory failure, and almost always, it means being there for families, too. In critical care, skill matters, but so does compassion. 💚

And in the MSICU, none of it happens alone. Critical care takes a team that works hard, thinks fast, and grows stronger together.

If you’re ready for meaningful work that will challenge you and shape you, this may be where your next chapter begins. 📍

Welcome to the world Addison Grace Carrillo, our newest Blazer Baby! 🔥👶

Born to proud parents Roberto and Stephanie Carrillo, this little one's story is already rooted in Blazer pride. Roberto and Stephanie met at Valdosta State University in a biology lab during their sophomore year, and their connection only grew stronger from there.

While earning her undergraduate degree, Stephanie was a member of the Blazin’ Brigade Dance Team, the Blazettes, and together, she and Roberto served as University Ambassadors—sharing their love for VSU with future Blazers during open house events. As dedicated three-time Blazers, they each went on to earn their bachelor’s, master’s, and specialist degrees from the university, creating a Blazer legacy that Addison now gets to carry forward.

We’re proud to honor our partnership with VSU by highlighting born at SGMC Health. ❤️🖤
