The Sun is a Major Arcana card and is usually seen as a positive omen of Joy and Positivity. However, while the Sun certainly can illuminate things for us, it can also shine so brightly that it hurts our eyes.👁👁

Imagine this little caterpillar emerging from his cocoon for the first time. Everything looks bright and shiny, and it will probably take a minute for him to adjust to his new environment .

The Sun 🌞 can bring transformation and blessings. But give yourself time to adjust and take in all the gifts being bestowed upon you. 🦋 🦋

Maiden, Mother, Crone Spread for Hekate

This spread was done today for myself as I am currently at a crossroads in my life; transition to being a caregiver for my husband. I usually do not share personal details on this account, but felt it necessary to do so today.

This reading came out with all Major Arcana cards, speaking to a very significant event. Obviously, the Fool represents me as I stand ready to launch myself into the precipice of the unknown.

The Hermit is reminding me to quiet my mind and go within on a daily basis so that I can remain calm and focused. I will need to educate myself about my husband's condition and be able to receive that knowledge with a clear mind.

The Emperor asks that I set the groundwork and foundation necessary for his return home from rehab. Making sure we both understand his plan of care, diet, exercise, etc. I will also protect him and be sure that he is safe.

The Empress is asking that I nurture him and care for him as best I can. I will treat him with compassion and empathy, and listen to his concerns. I will be responsible for his care, both physically and emotionally.

Lastly, Death suggests that I must die to my old ways of doing things, and this sums up my situation perfectly. None of us lives a perfect life. We all make mistakes, and do or say things we know are unhealthy for ourselves and/or others. But sometimes life gives us a wakeup call and reminds us what really matters. To me it is LOVE ❤️

WOW. This person embodies greed 💲💲💲. Sure they have a stable life. But as far as sharing the wealth?? No way. They cling to those coins like they are life itself. But are they truly happy?

I made this spread specifically to work with Hekate as I am forever grateful for Her many blessings. I am not going to go into a card by card detailed explanation, but if you scroll through, you will see the layout and card positions.

Suffice it to say that She is a complex Triple Goddess who operates on the 3 levels shown; emotions, actions, and intellect. It is the combination of the three that help guide our magical practices.

For those that follow me here, you probably know that I am a devotee of Hekate. So, of course, I had to get this Oracle deck called Oracle of the Hekatean Path.🗝🗝🗝

This card beautifully depicts Hekate in one of her many epithets, Key Holder. Kleidoukhos. She holds the keys to knowledge and the mysteries that we seek as humans. She can unlock those places within ourselves that we may not otherwise have access to without her intercession.

Hekate often speaks to us with symbols. The key symbol was the one that called me to her so many years ago. I was finding random keys everywhere, and as I believe in signs from the Universe, I took it upon myself to look up their symbolism and stumbled (?) Or not (?) upon her. And my journey began.

I love this depiction of the 6 of Pentacles from the Tarot!

Often, we think of the figure on the card as someone who is carefully balancing the resources they are giving out to those less fortunate.

But...notice how the scales are evenly balanced to give the impression that everything has been evened out and weighed so that everyone gets their fair share. But then, the figure is nonchalantly tossing the coins in the general direction of only one receiver.

Notice the positioning of the larger coins surrounding the individual on the card. While 6 coins could easily have been split in half - 3 on one side, 3 on the other - instead, there are 3, 1, and 2. When I view the image, it makes me feel like there's something out of balance here. Something just feels off.

Why is this person giving coins out? Is it truly a selfless gift OR...is it more for appearances???
Are they playing favorites? Do they expect something in return ?? Is there a hidden motive?? 🤔

WAKE UP! The 4 of Cups is telling you it is time to come out of that funk you're in and see the beauty all around you.

Sometimes, we get lost in those heavy feelings, negative thoughts, feelings of lack or depression. In so doing, we may miss the opportunities that are right in front of us. It's difficult to get up and take notice when we feel like we are spiraling into our own minds.

We have to make that choice to become aware things we may have ignored or neglected that may benefit our souls. Don't get dragged down in the muck. The universe is waiting.

I love comparing Tarot decks and find that some of the newer decks really expand my interpretations of the cards.

This card from The Arcanum Tarot really highlights the joy and innocence of childhood. That's what the Sun card feels like to me; joy, freedom, no worries. Happy summer days, romping carefree through life. Even the Sun itself has a baby face! 👶

Here we go with 6 of Pentacles... usually this card is read as give and take. But.. it also has to do with power and bullying. The bird in this card is helping the water buffalo by eating the ticks off if his body. Sounds helpful, right? But in actuality, the bird is doing this so he can continue down to the Buffalo blood and feast on that. Not cool!
Maybe the gift or compensation is not a true gift at all, but the giver's way of getting what he really wants. Beware of things that seem too good to be true. They probably are. What are the giver's reasons and motivation?
What's the catch?? How is the giver's position of power being used. There is always a possibility of abuse of power when someone's motivations are impure.
