Kennedy Gutierrez finished her stellar freshmen season at VHS with a 5th place finish at state and big bro Aidan Gutierrez had his first collegiate top 5 finish at Ball State!!

“Yesterday was one of the hardest races I've ever done. The MiTi half duathlon. It was a 56 mile bike ride followed by a half marathon(13.1 miles). I trained for a year...riding some kind of bike almost everyday. The bike was HILLY, with one extremely steep hill that might have had me swearing, but made it through. I got tagged by a Winnebago on the bike course. I couldn't believe they hit me and that I managed to not go off the road! My elbow and shoulder are bruised but not too bad.The half marathon was two loops which were hard but there was quite a bit of shade and aid stations were great! . I finished in a hair over 8 hours. I can't say how much I appreciate all the support my wonderful hubby David Fritts has given me on this journey, even coming out to volunteer at the race. I also want to give a shout out to my trainer Tony at Integrated Movement who helped me make a plan and get all the training to make it a successful race.”
