Being an autism mom changes you — and not just in the “busy schedule” kind of way.
It changes how you hear the world, how you plan your day, how you celebrate milestones, and how you grieve expectations you didn’t even realize you had.
NWI Autism Moms exists so we can talk about that part.
Not just therapies.
Not just behaviors.
Not just resources.
But us.
The confusion.
The guilt.
The pride.
The learning curve.
The days we feel strong — and the days we absolutely do not.
None of us started this journey as experts. We’re all beginners in something: IEPs, sensory needs, communication, meltdowns, school meetings, or simply understanding our own emotions.
This is a place to:
• ask questions without judgment
• share what you learned yesterday
• vent without being corrected
• teach without talking down
• and grow without comparison
No mom here is “behind.”
No kid here is “less than.”
No question here is dumb.
We’re opening the conversation — honestly, kindly, and together.
Because understanding autism starts with understanding each other 🤍
