Today we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible funeral directors and embalmers on our team.
~
This work is often quiet and behind the scenes, and at times it can feel like a thankless job. But day after day, they show up with compassion, professionalism, and dedication to the families we serve. They work long hours, answer late-night calls, and give so much of themselves to help others through some of life’s most difficult moments.
~
Many times that means putting the needs of the community ahead of their own plans and even time with their own families. That level of commitment doesn’t go unnoticed.
~
We are incredibly grateful for the care, dignity, and respect they bring to every family we serve. Today we celebrate you and thank you for the meaningful work you do every single day. 👏🎉💐

Behind every service is a professional dedicated to helping families find comfort, meaning, and remembrance.

March 1st marks the beginning of our mowing season. During this time, only fresh cut flowers are allowed to be placed at grave spaces.
As always, please don't leave anything of monetary or sentimental value in the cemetery.

Update: It is safe to visit the grounds. Our grounds crew has done an amazing job clearing up the mess from the storm all while serving the families with services. Thank you grounds crew! As always, please be mindful of branches above and below you as well as potential slippery spots.

Please refrain from visiting the cemetery grounds today. Due to the recent storm, we have branches and even trees down. It will take some time for the grounds crew to get everything tidied up and to assess the integrity of the other trees.
Power is down in 3 of our 4 buildings due to a tree on a power line on NE 112th Ave. Our offices are still open and ready to serve you!

Wreaths Across America is less than 60 days away! More than 5,300 locations around the country will be participating and Evergreen Memorial Gardens is one of them!
If you haven't done so already, please sponsor a wreath (or 5!) so that each burial in our two veterans gardens will receive a wreath!
If you attend the event and know of a veteran that is buried in a different garden within our cemetery, you'll be able to personally place that wreath.

We had the pleasure of joining the Death and Dying class from Washington State University Vancouver and WSU Pullman for a thoughtful discussion via Zoom.
The students asked great questions and were deeply engaged in exploring the work we do and the meaning behind it.
