Yogananda says that meditation is key to recognizing this perfection. In meditation, we develop our ability to see the Divine everywhere. We are offered the opportunity, in the heart of the Pigeon River Forest, to dive deep into this sacred technique. Through the upcoming retreats, we hope to support others, new and familiar, in their search for molding their meditation practice.

"... The only way to reunion is through the exercise of your own will. No other power on earth or in heaven can do it for you." ~ Paramahansa Yogananda

Fortunately, we have Song of the Morning as a haven of safety. Here in northern Michigan, this yoga retreat of excellence offers the support of a spiritual community. Surrounded by the whimsical nature of the Pigeon River forest, we are blessed with a balance of work and play. Every moment, we are sweetly reminded of our divine role as children of God. As we clasp our hands and our voices ring with laughter, the omnipresence of the Divine Father and Mother walks along with us into the meadow of presence.

"... Let nothing hurt or disturb you. Be still within, receptive to the Divine Voice. Spend your leisure time in meditation." ~Paramahansa Yogananda

This holy season encourages both childlike bliss and stillness, allowing us to cherish the delicate moments with one another in heart opening sadhana. While the snow deepens, so too does our meditation, awakening our true nature: perennial joy.

Paramahansa Yogananda taught that the beginning of the New Year is especially auspicious for deep introspection and life changing resolutions. ✨

Rest, Relax, Restore
A Winter Hatha Yoga Retreat at Song of the Morning
February 20 to 22, 2026

This February, give yourself the gift of time to slow down, rest, and restore.

In this busy world, we all get tired. And sometimes we neglect to take the rest we need. Let the calming arms of Song of the Morning enfold you in its peaceful healing atmosphere as you take that rest.

Enjoy complete relaxation through meditation, meditative Hatha yoga classes, and the yogic art of relaxation, with techniques taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. Give yourself the space to rest and luxuriate in our snowy winter wonderland.

“A body that is relaxed and calm invites mental peace, which is necessary for meditation, the spiritual art of communion with God. Therefore one of the first steps in a balanced program of spiritual development is relaxation of the body and mind.”
Paramahansa Yogananda
