“When the winter of trials comes, some leaves of life fall away. This is normal. It doesn’t matter. Take it in your stride. Say, ‘Never mind, summer is coming, and I shall blossom forth again.’ God has given inner strength for the tree to survive the harshest winters. You are no less endowed.”

One of the highlights during the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS (December 25 to January 5) is the FELLOWSHIP WITH YOGACHARYA presentation on Saturday December 27 at 2 pm.

This year’s Fellowship is titled “Truth Is So Simple”, drawn from a rare recording captured at the Detroit Institute of the Arts on December 27, 1970. Almost exactly 55 years later, we gather to listen to Yogacharya share uplifting reflections on yoga as a way to deeper understanding, the stages of spiritual growth, discovering new worlds, and the simple clarity of Truth. His spontaneous conversation with devotees offers timeless inspiration for all seekers.

Each day of the Twelve Days of Christmas offers something special, from Christmas Eve luminaries and the Christmas Day progressive dinner to yoga classes, a drum circle, art project, films, nature walks, and sacred times of silence. New Year’s Eve brings shared inspiration, meditation, and uplifting moments. The celebration continues with services, peaceful meditations, and heart warming time in spiritual community. Whether you join us for one day or the full twelve, each day offers a beautiful way to deepen your connection with God and Guru and begin the new year in peace and joy.

"Mankind has only one real enemy- ignorance. Let us all work together for its destruction, helping and cheering one another along the way.” ~ Paramahansa Yogananda

As the retreat grows quiet and we affectionately welcome the winter, our acts of service continue. Nurturing our daily practice as a spiritual community radiates the warmth of encouragement. Together, we celebrate through soulful study, deep meditation, and refreshment as we joyfully step into this upcoming retreat season. We look forward to welcoming guests, both new and familiar, into the crisp awareness and uplifting energy of the teachings of our Guru.

We are cherishing the rare days of clear blue skies and sunshine. The heavenly warmth expresses that though winter is drawing nearer, there's so much to be grateful for. Our practice of meditation, soulful study, and applying the teachings in sincere acts of service, allows us to collectively go deeper into the cozy embrace of Spirit. And the spirit of this upcoming holiday is a tender reminder to share the warmth of divine friendship and ever-new joy.

What a beautiful and heart-opening weekend. There was no denying the gentle presence of Divine Mother’s love permeating everything we did. Again and again, people shared how tangibly they felt Her softness, protection, and unconditional acceptance.

One of the most meaningful reminders many received was that Divine Mother’s love is always available to us, especially during our most difficult moments. Divine Mother never turns away Her child because of mistakes or shortcomings. Her love is patient, unconditional, and ever-ready to lift us when we falter.

Throughout the retreat we chanted in honor of Divine Mother, learned more about Her nature, and deepened our understanding of Paramahansa Yogananda’s relationship with Her. We also had the blessing of participating in Homa, a sacred fire offering, as well as a Kali Puja. Many also took time to walk to the Divine Mother Shrine, a quiet place on the land where Her presence feels especially near.

Lopa’s presence, words, and Sanskrit chanting added a deeply devotional dimension to the weekend, and Naren’s teachings, stories, and heartfelt guidance created a space where everyone felt held, inspired, and renewed.

It was a weekend filled with tenderness, upliftment, and the unmistakable embrace of Divine Mother.🌺

During our Weaving Meditation Retreat in early November, guided with heartfelt presence by Naren, we rediscovered the portable paradise within, a truth Paramahansa Yogananda so lovingly revealed. Whether new to meditation or practicing for decades, we gained fresh, practical tools to stay present and let awareness flow into daily life. Held by nature and a warm, supportive community, we ended the weekend grounded, open-hearted, and uplifted. We look forward to continuing this journey and diving even deeper into meditation at future retreats with Naren.
