Training health care staff to get patients engaged in their care through Principles of health coaching. In the Saddle Health Coaching believes that each person comes from their own perspective and in that is capable of achieving the health goals that they desire for themselves. Through guidance and accountability to your goals we help people work towards living the healthier life they hope to live. Training medical/healthcare staff in health coaching principles to enhance patient engagement will provide desirable patient centered outcomes and tools for staff to be a part of the patient relationship they imagine. Do you have staff whose work is effected by personal or organizational stress? A coaching relationship can provide these folks insights and tools to harness that negative energy into positive results.

This summer I achieved the International Coach Federation Associate Credentialed Coach (ACC) status. The coaching process is a partnership between the coach and a person who has decided to work towards life changes that are important to them. These changes can be in any area of life--physical, emotional, nutritional, spiritual, home, work...Usually coaching takes place over the phone which is an added convenience for people however some people prefer face to face. The frequency of meetings can be weekly or every other week. In my experience weekly is beneficial to start. The journey of self care is about much more than diet and exercise. We are complex in our makeup with so many parts of ouselves answering daily demands from the environment. We may be taking care of our bodies very well but maybe our intellectual or emotional selves are out of alignment. Self care is a 360 degree process asking for an honest self conversation with the 'who', a vision of the 'what' we want, a plan for the 'how' to proceed and most of all...self compassion.
