Dear Friends and Colleagues:

After months of hard work, I am excited to announce the founding of USMA Action!

Over a year ago, we began our quest to build an organization that would truly represent the voice of physicians nationwide; an institution that would allow doctors from all the specialties, to learn, interact, discuss, deliberate, and plan, confident that the decisions they made together would be honored and that their profession would be well represented. In short, we set out to build the new home of America’s doctors. That organization is the United State Medical Association.

Now, we equip the USMA with its shield and its sword: USMA Action!

Through USMA Action, physicians will be able to deliver their message to state and federal officeholders, administrators, fellow healthcare stakeholders, and to the general public. And what is that message?

Simply put, the underlying message of the United States Medical Organization and USMA Action is that physicians are those best equipped to take care of America’s most frail and vulnerable citizens: its sick and injured. Absent physicians healthcare cannot possibly be reliably and safely delivered.

At USMA Action, we are well aware of the Herculean task that lies before us, not only because of the complexity of the system in which we find ourselves practicing, but also because of the great harm that has been allowed to take place in the legislative, economic, and political arenas to our healthcare system prior to our arrival. We also recognize that there is no more important a time to take on these efforts than right now! And there are no more important persons with whom to take on this endeavor than with you, our colleagues.

At USMA Action, we will never submit to the wrong answer, nor give up the pursuit of what is in physician’s best interests because, among other reasons, such efforts will ultimately help the patients. Thus, it is with great excitement and hope for the future of our profession that we ask you to join us on our quest to improve our standing as doctors while strengthening our profession’s position in the public sphere.

How can you help?

First, sign up for our emails. Follow us on social medial (we now have accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. . . . more interactive opportunities will be forthcoming). Join the USMA. And contribute to the strengthening of our sword and shield.

Also feel free to arrange a fundraiser or a meet and greet in you community. We would love to go to your neighborhood, meet up with our colleagues and explain to them, in person, why the USMA and USMA Action are the best choices for medicine’s future. Contact us by clicking here.
