Low angle rope rescue training. We’ve recently added some new equipment to the rope gear on our engines and truck. It takes continuous training to keep current on the advancing technology and technical skills.

The crew at fire station 1 recently hosted a firefighter from Japan. Thank you for the patches and conversation. It’s always a pleasure to talk with firefighters from other agencies and hear how varied this profession can be.

The Ventura City Fire Honor Guard and had the privilege to participate in the annual ceremony honoring local fallen firefighters. The Fallen Firefighter Memorial is located at The Government Center in Ventura.

Medic Engine 1’s crew after an RV fire this morning. Great work by Kyle Tong as acting Captain and Max Palmer as acting engineer. Both of these guys will be moving into full time acting positions next week while awaiting promotion.

Posted • Meet the Litton’s. The Litton’s will be a recipient from this years Rich, a firefighter with Santa Maria Fire recently discovered his wife Maddie has leukemia. The treatment for Maddie will entail a two-year journey of chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants. Our mission is to support firefighters and their family in a time of need. A portion of our proceeds will go directly to supporting the Litton family. Please sign up and register today.

Posted • Ventura City Fire is responding to a small plane down near Marina Park. All passengers all are safely out and no injuries are reported at this time. Firefighters are working with joint agencies on the response.

Saturday, September 17th. Please join The Clapsaddle family and Ventura Firefighters in honoring the life of Firefighter Matt Clapsaddle.
The paddle out will begin at 11am at Harbor Cove Beach, Ventura.
Commemorative t-shirts will be available with all proceeds going to The Matt Clapsaddle Fund.
