At Gray Matter Therapy, our work is guided by empathy, respect, and continuous learning. We seek team members who share these values and are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our clients.

We are seeking graduate-level interns interested in developing their clinical skills within a supportive, growth-oriented environment. Our work is rooted in genuine curiosity about each client’s experience and a deep respect for their individual process.

🎓 We are open to working with a variety of master’s and doctoral level interns, including but not limited to: Master of Counseling, Master of Social Work, Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, and PhD/PsyD practicum students

Say hello to our newest clinician, Dhel!

We’re excited to welcome Dhel to the Gray Matter Therapy team. Their warmth, curiosity, and genuine care create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported.

Dhel has experience working in community mental health, inpatient psychiatric care, and VA hospital settings, and partners with clients using evidence based approaches like CBT, DBT, and Adlerian therapy. They believe therapy works best when it begins with really listening to each person’s story and strengths.

Dhel has immediate openings for telehealth and in person services in Vernon Hills.

The leaves are turning and the season is changing. During this time of the year, change can happen so fast. So, there is no wonder teens struggle through the transitions. If you have a teen between 12 to 14 years old who is going through transitions whether that's from 8th grade to Freshman or the winter break, this might be the group they just need.

📢 We're excited to announce a new group 📢

SOBER SPACE aims to cultivate greater awareness and mindfulness, empowering participants to pause, observe their present experiences, and make conscious choices in each moment. Through the practice of mindfulness and self-reflection, participants will work towards breaking free from deeply ingrained patterns of thought and behavior in the journey of sobriety.
