Vero Beach IP made "upside-down ice cream" for the birds!
First, we covered cones in sticky peanut butter. Then, we rolled them in seeds and hung them on the fence.

Magnificent Monday in Vero Beach at Florida Rescue Ranch for our Animal Connections session!
We started our day checking in on our baby chicks ( who are growing fast) and our newest friend Sparky, the wee little pig who has stolen every heart!!
Then it was off to the pasture to hang out and work with the donkeys and mini's. Clients each got the chance to label body parts/structure of the donkey, compare the similarities to a horse and have a lot of hands on connections with these sweet souls! They were so very cooperative allowing us to place stickers over and over again! Of course the free pets, loves and cuddles were payment enough for them!
At our craft table we did several worksheets on animal facts... Horse, donkey, pig, cow, goat and then showed off more art talent coloring and painting the animals.
Everyone passed the animal facts pop quiz and got a really cool prize for doing such a great job!!
And a quick stop to visit some horses and hang out by the fence is always one of our favorites!

Learn to ride a bike!

After all the rain last week Vero Beach Comprehensive made it to Florida Rescue Ranch on Friday!
We got to meet our baby chicks(that hatched Easter weekend) and everyone was over the moon to hold them and name them! What an amazing moment when the educational lesson goes full circle!
Our chicks have been adopted and are being well cared for by a very sweet "frizzle" hen.
Then it was time to meet a very special animal at the ranch...
Sparky the pig won us all over with his little grunts and twirly tail! Learning about a 4 day old pig, watching him bottle feed and play brought many smiles and full hearts!
One of our favorite parts about our time at the ranch is always the art session. This week we learned how to draw a baby chick hatching out of an egg. This group is very talented and so focused!
Every trip to the ranch is educational, exciting and heartwarming. The friendships, human and animal as well as the bonds that are forming between clients and animals is amazing.

Yummy Fruit Pizzas!! 🍓🍪
Our class in Vero Brach IP made tiny fruit pizzas! We used yummy sugar cookies and topped them with sweet frosting and colorful fruit. They were so much fun to make and even more fun to eat!! 😋

Vero Beach had several groups visit The Environmental Learning Center last week. Hands on fun, great weather and time spent with our friends makes for a perfect day!

How does the Easter Bunny stay fit?
With lots of eggs-ercise! 🐰

The Rise Center Rescue Ranchers started the week 3/30 with an egg hunt on the ranch... Smiles and laughter for each egg found. Even the chickens wanted in on the colorful eggs!
It was then off to the barn to check on our incubating eggs and see what stage of growth the chicks are at... We should have baby chicks hatching soon!
We split into our groups for horse care and paint and Sip (apple juice). It was a beautiful day full of sunshine, learning and friendships!
A very special thank you to the generous neighbor of Florida Rescue Ranch for providing t-shirts to each client and staff! Everyone is excited to wear them proudly next week!!
