🤍To teach our children emotional regulation, we first have to learn how to regulate ourselves. Children are sponges—they watch everything we do and repeat what they see. Let’s be mindful of the example we’re setting. 💛

It is okay to feel all the feels. Every emotion carries information, even the uncomfortable ones. When you stop resisting and let them in, they soften. They pass. Feeling deeply isn’t weakness—it’s how healing begins. ❤️‍🩹 ❤️

✨What is therapy?

It looks different for every single person.
For some, it’s a safe place to vent — to finally say the things they’ve been holding in. For others, it’s a space to feel truly heard and validated, sometimes for the first time. Therapy can be about processing distressing or painful experiences, making sense of emotions that feel overwhelming, and understanding yourself on a deeper level.
It’s also a place to learn coping skills, identify triggers, and break patterns that no longer serve you. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about growth, awareness, and healing.
Therapy is healing, and healing looks different for everyone.

✨Mindset Shifts for Growth
Progress beats perfection.
Mistakes = lessons
You can change more than you think.
Habits matter more than motivation.
Comparison can inspire, not discourage.
You don’t need control — just a good response.
Start before you feel ready.
That’s it. Growth gets easier when your mindset does.

Calming your nervous system means helping your body and mind return to a state of balance when you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed. It’s about finding ways to reduce the “fight or flight” response that happens when you’re in a heightened state of stress, and instead, promoting a sense of calm and relaxation.

Emotional Regulation Tips

1. Name the emotion
Pause and label what you’re feeling (e.g., angry, anxious, overwhelmed).
Naming emotions reduces their intensity and increases control.
2.Pause before reacting
Give yourself a moment to breathe before responding.
Even a 10-second pause can prevent impulsive reactions.
3.Breathe to calm your body
Slow, deep breathing helps your nervous system settle.
Try inhaling for 4 counts and exhaling for 6 counts.
4.Notice your triggers
Pay attention to situations, thoughts, or people that spark strong emotions.
Awareness helps you prepare and respond more skillfully.

Perhaps the year ahead isn’t about becoming anything at all. Maybe instead, it’s about slowly unbecoming all the things which no longer align with you, and finding peace in the quiet return to your authentic self. #2026

Sometimes a scary or upsetting memory gets stuck in your brain. EMDR helps your brain unstick it.
While you think a little about the memory, you follow side-to-side movements (with your eyes or tapping).
This helps the memory feel less scary or upsetting over time. You are awake, in control, and can stop anytime.
It’s like helping your brain file the memory away properly so it doesn’t keep bothering you.
