As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, we are honored to highlight the women whose dedication, leadership, and compassion help strengthen our mental health community.
Today we recognize Ebone Newton, MS, EdS, LPC.
Ebone brings a depth of experience and commitment to the field of mental health. She has worked across several settings, that have molded her ability to approach therapy with a well-rounded understanding of the challenges individuals and families may face across different stages of life.
Her leadership and community impact have also been recognized by the City of Tuscaloosa, where she received a Proclamation from Mayor Walt Maddox honoring her leadership and humanitarian contributions. Ebone was selected by the Board of Management of the Murphy African American Museum as an Outstanding Role Model in West Alabama, recognized for opening doors and creating opportunities within the community.
In addition to her clinical work, Ebone is currently pursuing her PhD while continuing to serve clients, collaborate with state systems, and lead her own private practice. Her dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth reflects a strong commitment to improving care and expanding opportunities for those she serves.
Ebone is also embracing a meaningful new chapter as a new mother, balancing the responsibilities of motherhood alongside her professional leadership and service with strength, compassion, and determination.
Her work and leadership continue to make a meaningful impact on the individuals and communities she serves.
Honoring the women who came before her by continuing to make history through the work we do today.
