If starting therapy or staying consistent with it feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. Big change doesn’t happen all at once. It happens in small, doable steps.

Here are three gentle ways to take baby steps with therapy this month:

1. Start with awareness
Notice what’s been feeling heavy lately: stress, communication struggles, burnout, big emotions. You don’t have to fix it yet. Just name it.

2. Practice one small skill at home
That might mean trying one speech exercise, practicing a calming breath, or using a coping tool you’ve talked about in session, just once a day.

3. Ask for support
Schedule a session. Reach out with a question. Bring a family member along. Therapy doesn’t have to be something you do alone.

At Grace Therapy Collective, we meet you exactly where you are, with compassion, respect, and a nonjudgmental approach. Whether your step is tiny or feels huge, it still counts.

What’s one small step you can take this week?

Looking for an inexpensive and easy winter speech therapy activity to try at home? ❄️

Consider a “snow bath!”
Add a small amount of shaving cream to your child’s bath toys and let them explore their own pretend “snowy” world.

As you play, talk about what you see and feel: snowy, cold, fluffy, white, melting. This simple sensory activity naturally encourages:
•Repetition of target words (like snow)
•Descriptive language and vocabulary growth
•Turn-taking and back-and-forth interaction
•Early sentence building through play

If you’re hoping to take an extra step with speech therapy at home in 2026, activities like this are a great place to start. Everyday play, when paired with intentional language, can reinforce skills your child is already working on in therapy.

Try it during bath time and see where the conversation goes! Let us know how your little one responds ❄️

Are you a New Year’s resolution person?
Or does the idea of big goals and “failing by February” feel more stressful than motivating?

At Grace Therapy Collective, we believe growth doesn’t start with perfection—it starts with first steps.

Think about a baby learning to walk. They don’t stand up one day and start running. First, they lift their head. Then they pull themselves up. They crawl, cruise along furniture, wobble, fall… and try again. Every step counts, even the messy ones.

We believe your mental health, emotional well-being, and speech therapy journey can look the same way in 2026. No pressure. No shame. Just small, meaningful steps forward.

So instead of asking “What do I need to change?”
Try asking: “What is one small step I can take today?”

✨ New Year, Same You—With More Grace ✨
At Grace Therapy Collective, we don’t believe in “New Year, New You.” We believe in New Year, More You.

More opportunities to grow.
More space to heal.
More tools to communicate.
More moments of resilience, hope, and connection.

Whether you're seeking counseling or speech therapy, we’re here to walk alongside you—without pressure, without perfectionism. Just steady, supported steps toward the life you want.

Here’s to a year of becoming—not because you’re not enough, but because you’re already worthy of more.

This month, we invite you to pause—and take a few seconds to breathe, reset, and reconnect.

This is your reminder: put down your phone, step outside, and give yourself a little grace.

🎄 Easy Holiday Speech Therapy Tip 🎄
Looking for a fun, no-prep way to support your child’s speech goals this season?
Try playing I Spy while driving around to see holiday lights, admiring decorations at home, or gazing at your Christmas tree!
Here’s why it works:
🎄 Targets speech sounds – Choose items that include sounds your child is working on
🎄 Builds vocabulary – Introduces new words in a playful, visual way
🎄 Encourages sentence structure – “I spy with my little eye something red…”
🎄 Zero prep required – Just play and enjoy!

Speech practice doesn’t have to feel like work—it can be part of your holiday magic!
