Meet Pasha!

She is our Pet of the Week, featured on the marquee on The Times Theater, here in Rochester this week.

Pasha is approximately 10 years old, 50 # and a Shepherd/ChowChow mix.

Pasha was found here in Rochester as a stray, the last week of December. She was found in a ditch with near frozen water and stuck in tree roots. She had to be saved by our local EMS and other Officers from her predicament!! Without them coming to her rescue, she would have likely not survived. Pasha was on the verge of hypothermia and very weak from the whole ordeal. Her temperature at intake that night was just 96*! (A dog's normal body temperature is at about 101.) Pasha pulled thru that night and the days after the ordeal, and has been recovering with us since then!

Pasha just got a blood panel ran and was cleared to be spayed. After recuperating for the past 2 months in our care, is now looking for her forever home!

Since in our care, we have found that Pasha does like to spend alot of her time outside. However, being an older lady, she needs to have a secure fenced area or be leash walked only; not to be let out for any amount of time unattended. She loves the comfort of a nice orthopedic dog bed! Pasha seems to get a bit disoriented at times and her sight is not great, and may be flighty if she gets loose from you.

Pasha does not like the company of cats or other dogs. She will need to be the one and only pet in her new home.

Older, respectful kids who are able to understand that dogs need their own space & time, should be ok in her home. Pasha will not appreciate any child who is going to lay on her or startle her while sleeping.

Completely potty/kennel trained.

She did initially test positive for Lyme disease. We have treated her and she has had her Lyme Vaccine, which needs updated yearly. She will need to be kept on monthly tick/flea prevention. Pasha may benefit from joint supplements as well with her age.

Spayed, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and monthly prevention. Her adoption fee is fully Sponsered!!

Interested in applying to adopt Pasha?! Apply online here: https://www.fultoncoanimalcenter.org/application-to-adopt-a-dog

We to offer a 2 week foster with intent to adopt option, to make sure it's a good fit, before finalizing the adoption!
