Today's goes out to Sandra Found, one of our 2019 Cove to Harbor Athenas. Sandra has had to overcome two life-changing medical procedures, both leaving her with a new medical device. First up was a spinal cord stimulator. Following two failed back surgeries she was deemed a candidate for the spinal cord stimulator and thankfully it worked!
Next up was the ExoSym. Following an ankle injury when she was ten, Sandra endured reconstructions, fusions, and a total ankle replacement but nothing freed her from her pain. In 2018 she received the ExoSym and has successfully been able to return to an active lifestyle without having to amputate her lower right leg.
Sandra has decided to celebrate her newly regained active lifestyle by participating in the San Diego Cove to Harbor Marathon Trek. We can't wait to celebrate your success, Sandra!
