Pilates isn’t meant to be weightlifting because it’s something different.

It’s not completely about maxing out reps or chasing the burn in your biceps. While yes we chase the burn every now and then, it’s about waking up the muscles that hold you together. Your core, your stabilizers, the ones that quietly support every move you make.

When I started, I was surprised at how hard it was to control those “small” movements. But that’s the magic Pilates builds strength from the inside out. You get stronger, more mobile, more connected to your body. And yes, the physical changes come. The tone, the definition, the weight loss they happen. Just in a way that feels sustainable and intentional.

If you’ve ever felt like traditional workouts weren’t your thing, maybe it’s because your body is asking for something smarter, not harder. That was true for me and Pilates changed everything.

✨ Mindset is Everything ✨

Pilates will humble you real quick. One minute you're doing leg circles like a boss, and the next, your core is shaking like a leaf. But what carries you through that? Not the strength (yet). Not the flexibility (also yet). It’s the mindset.

I’ve learned that the way you talk to yourself in a Pilates class(the patience, the perseverance, the grace) that mindset doesn’t just stay on the mat. It shows up in your conversations, in how you handle stress, and in how you show up for yourself when no one’s watching.

You don’t have to be flexible to start. You don’t have to be strong. But you do have to believe just a little, that you’re capable. That small shift in mindset can change everything. And it applies whether you’re on the mat, navigating a hard season, or just trying to stay consistent with something that matters to you.

So every class, show up. Breathe through the shake. Choose the mindset that lifts you not just in class, but in life.

Even if your abs are still sore tomorrow.

Can I be honest?
Some days, dragging myself to move my body feels like a hard no even though I know I’ll feel 100x better afterward.

That’s why I love teaching (and doing) Pilates. It meets you exactly where you are. Tired? Stiff? Mentally fried? Cool. Come as you are.

We move gently but with purpose. We breathe. We build strength. We find muscles we forgot existed (hi, deep abs 👋). And somehow by the end, it all feels... lighter.
