Alfred Adler was an Austrian physician and psychiatrist who is most known for establishing the individual psychology school of thought. He is well known for his concepts of inferiority feeling and inferiority complex, which he considered were important factors in the development of personality. Alder was a founder member of the Vienna Psychoanalytic Society and a collaborator of Sigmund Freud. Individual psychology was Adler's term for his approach, which centered on looking at the individual as a whole. Adler's Work falls under the approach of Psychoanalysis. According to Adler's view, everyone experiences a sense of inferiority. People "strive for superiority" since childhood in order to overcome their inferiority.
