My first experience with Dr. Guy Riekeman was hearing him speak in Chicago to a small group of prospective students - he lit up the room with a vision for chiropractic and human potential that was full of possibility and vitality, shattering the limited health vision of a drug-based medical paradigm. I was in. He lit up Palmer College while President with a flame that celebrated its philosophical roots and empowered innovation. I had the absolute privilege to learn from him while he taught classes, spoke on stage, and while serving with the Vogt Leadership Society.
Hearing him speak always left me inspired and reminded of “how BIG” was the power of life, love, the Universe, and nature, and their impact on healing and potential. He highlighted stories of people who challenged limiting beliefs, who overcame incredible odds, who stood up to injustice, and wrongdoing, who thought outside the box. If they can do it, why not us? He encouraged and exemplified living with courage and integrity, passion, and living true to your beliefs. He made us better people which in turn made us better servants, leaders, and change agents so we could make the world a better place.
He provoked our desire for meaning and impact with quotes like “The powerful play of life goes on, and you may contribute a verse. What verse will you contribute?”
He fueled my vision for Whole Body Health Chiropractic and its potential to help people find real, root-cause healing and vitality, so they can contribute their verse.
I’m so happy I was able to see him while we were in Puerto Rico. Guy, thank you for your verse. You will be greatly missed.
