What better way to end off the week than chatting about the tummy tuck recovery process😁

The tummy tuck recovery process depends on the type of tummy tuck procedure and your body’s healing capability. However, you can improve the recovery journey by following all the surgeon’s guidelines and taking all your medications. You’ll have to wear compression garments around your abdomen for a few weeks to minimize swelling. Most patients resume work and normal activities in a week or two, but you must avoid strenuous workouts for at least a month.

You’ll need to adhere to the following general guidelines in addition to personalized instructions from the surgeon:

⚡️ Stay home from work for at least two weeks.
⚡️ Walk lightly around the house as soon as possible to promote healing.
⚡️ Wear compression garments for at least two weeks.
⚡️ Arrange for someone to help you care for young children.
⚡️ Sleep with your head elevated for at least two weeks.
⚡️ Take any prescribed antibiotics and medications to prevent infections.

A few FAQs regarding liposuction...

1️⃣ Do I have to be asleep for the procedure?
No. Small volume liposuction that only addresses one area or body part can oftentimes be done with the patient awake or with oral sedation anesthesia. For larger cases that involve large volume liposuction or multiple areas, you will be much more comfortable and I can do a better job if you're asleep.

2️⃣ What is the recovery from liposuction like?
For the first 4-6 days following surgery, you will be extremely sore and you can expect to have lots of drainage. Most people will need about a week off of work. You will need to wear a compression garment for at least the first 4-6 weeks following surgery. This will help reduce the swelling, fluid collection, and improve contour. There will be swelling that will persist for months following surgery, and you can expect to see your final result at 4-6 months.

3️⃣ What is Vaser Liposuction?
The Vaser is an energy device that uses high-frequency pulsed ultrasound energy to emulsify and partially liquefy your fat. This allows for the safer and more efficient removal of fat. It also allows for more high-definition body contouring.

4️⃣ Who are the best candidates?
The best patient is within 5-10 pounds of their ideal weight with minimal or no loose skin.

5️⃣ Who is not a candidate for liposuction?
Your BMI must be under 30, although special exceptions are made up to a BMI of 32. You must also be a non-smoker and not use ni****ne in any form.

Continuing from yesterday's post on Brazilian butt lifts, let's talk about what the recovery process looks like.

The Brazilian butt lift is far safer and more convenient than other buttock enhancement options, such as silicone implants. You may experience swelling, redness, and irritation on the incision areas for a few weeks, and you may have trouble sitting for about two weeks; you’ll also have to sleep on your side or stomach until the area heals completely.

The results will appear gradually over several weeks, and you might notice the final results after 6 months. It takes time for the new fat tissues to settle in the new location. You’ll also have to wear compression garments for several weeks to aid the recovery process. However, once the results manifest, you can rest assured they’re permanent.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?
A Brazilian butt lift is an extremely popular cosmetic procedure that gives your buttocks a lift, making them appear fuller and more voluminous. The procedure essentially involves transferring fat tissues from other parts of your body to the buttocks. Unwanted fat tissues from other parts of the body, such as the abdomen, are suctioned out via liposuction, processed, and injected into the buttocks. This is an incredible body contouring procedure because it redistributes fat tissues for the ideal silhouette.

The Brazilian butt lift is performed as an outpatient procedure at our accredited surgical center under local or general anesthesia.
