Happy Sunday Laymani! This is Family Weekend, we said good bye to Rocky (aka Luke Duke), Gideon (aka Bo Duke), and Enzo (aka Cooter Duke) as they all began their life with the love of their forever families. Daisy Duke is due to leave us today.
The first night is always a BIG transition for our pups. They are in a NEW home with NEW people, NEW scents ... and no siblings to sleep snuggled up to. The first night away from what they knew was their world into their NEW world is always challenging for the pup and their humans...Hoping all went well and our human family got some sleep. Daisy Duke was not a happy girl and did not like ..Life alone with no siblings....she LOVES being held and snuggled, but left alone led to hissy fit after hissy fit...LOL Today she is with me and again not happy by herself in the puppy pool, when in my arms she is calm and nub waggin happy....I had to do the tough love and after about 10 / 15 minutes of her having a Daisy fit she is settling down. lots of soft talking and shhhshhh sounds, and now Quiet ,,, at last .... lol she was sitting up at the side of the pool with her head up, quietly watching me, finally settling in feeling secure that I am staying close by, she is laying down ... AAAhhh almost asleep .... and calmness is back.... her family will be here around noon, hopefully the first night / day without her siblings will make her second night easier. Thank God puppies are sooo cute, makes it easy to spoil .... BUT setting up boundaries and not rewarding hissy fits is the answer,,,, accomplishing this , consistency, patience and using a reassuring soft voice really does work. It really is hard to resist picking them up and snuggling them ...

All of Lily's pups have found their families, we have Trixie's pups waiting for Family love, they will be ready to go home March 7th. Trixie's pups are adorable, they are running, boxing and mouth wrestling .... chasing toys and feet .... lol Boxer pups are the best, they are truly a Blessing to the folks that have them. A Boxer is extremely intuitive to humans emotions, they know when you are having a great day, and when you need some extra snuggles....they will make you laugh and smile everyday of their life, they are soooo amazing .... I can not imagine not having one in our Life or hearts.

Well Little Miss Daisy Duke is curled up on her puppy bed, sleeping contently, time for me to get ready for her family ...Have a great Sunday Laymani....and Congratulations to our NEW (and Old) Laymani Families, I hope you will share pictures and stories of your your pups first days with their Family love.

from Guy: We began Laymani Boxers in 2006, so we are experiencing our 20th year, and it's an appropriate time for a little "Now and Then". Our first litter of puppies was born at Christmas of 2006. Our daughter Kristie's male, Thurman, was the proud, new sire at 5.5 years old. Thurman lived to be nearly 11 and had a litter of puppies just months before he passed.
Thurman brought us Rumor ("Rumor Has It"). Rumor brought us Serrano (Serrano Pepper, born on Cinco de Mayo). Serrano brought us Boomer. Boomer brought us James Dean (JD or Jimmy). There have been a couple other Laymani sires - Duke, Chase, and Dax. In fact, Dax was born right here as a Laymani puppy and placed with one of our Laymani Families.
When we began, we had the idea of building a community around our Boxers. That has been a highly successful concept. In all these years, we have produced 100 litters of Boxer puppies, totaling 588 Boxers. To measure our Boxer community, you might look at our Laymani Families page, with 465 members. We actually maintain 2 Private pages, Laymani Families and Laymani Family Health, especially for our Families who don't desire to publicly participate in Facebook. We even have an annual Laymani Familiy and Friends Reunion! Some pictures from the first Laymani Reunion are still posted on the website. If you are considering a Laymani Boxer puppy, please consider the program that our Families participate in.
Anyway, the main reason for this post was to talk about JD. His first litter of puppies begins going to their forever homes tomorrow. JD is a Poppy/Boomer puppy, a Sealed Reverse Brindle like his Momma. Poppy's own Mom and Pop were both Sealed Reverse Brindles.

Gabriella doesn't want to follow Boomer outside particularly when it's chilly or wet.

Over the weekend, all the puppies got bathed and wormed. Trixie was wormed, too. Trixie's crew got pedicures...sharp little eagle claws make Momma cringe.
Lily's crew visited Doc Elaine for first puppy shot and exam.
We already have AKC Registration papers in hand for both litters.

Denise and I will be visiting with Laymani Families soon, as the Lily puppies go home.
