Happy Sunday Laymani! This is Family Weekend, we said good bye to Rocky (aka Luke Duke), Gideon (aka Bo Duke), and Enzo (aka Cooter Duke) as they all began their life with the love of their forever families. Daisy Duke is due to leave us today.
The first night is always a BIG transition for our pups. They are in a NEW home with NEW people, NEW scents ... and no siblings to sleep snuggled up to. The first night away from what they knew was their world into their NEW world is always challenging for the pup and their humans...Hoping all went well and our human family got some sleep. Daisy Duke was not a happy girl and did not like ..Life alone with no siblings....she LOVES being held and snuggled, but left alone led to hissy fit after hissy fit...LOL Today she is with me and again not happy by herself in the puppy pool, when in my arms she is calm and nub waggin happy....I had to do the tough love and after about 10 / 15 minutes of her having a Daisy fit she is settling down. lots of soft talking and shhhshhh sounds, and now Quiet ,,, at last .... lol she was sitting up at the side of the pool with her head up, quietly watching me, finally settling in feeling secure that I am staying close by, she is laying down ... AAAhhh almost asleep .... and calmness is back.... her family will be here around noon, hopefully the first night / day without her siblings will make her second night easier. Thank God puppies are sooo cute, makes it easy to spoil .... BUT setting up boundaries and not rewarding hissy fits is the answer,,,, accomplishing this , consistency, patience and using a reassuring soft voice really does work. It really is hard to resist picking them up and snuggling them ...
All of Lily's pups have found their families, we have Trixie's pups waiting for Family love, they will be ready to go home March 7th. Trixie's pups are adorable, they are running, boxing and mouth wrestling .... chasing toys and feet .... lol Boxer pups are the best, they are truly a Blessing to the folks that have them. A Boxer is extremely intuitive to humans emotions, they know when you are having a great day, and when you need some extra snuggles....they will make you laugh and smile everyday of their life, they are soooo amazing .... I can not imagine not having one in our Life or hearts.
Well Little Miss Daisy Duke is curled up on her puppy bed, sleeping contently, time for me to get ready for her family ...Have a great Sunday Laymani....and Congratulations to our NEW (and Old) Laymani Families, I hope you will share pictures and stories of your your pups first days with their Family love.
