Thanks for this reminder.
It’s too easy to beat myself up for not accomplishing a goal- all the emotions that come with it: shame, guilt, insecurity, self- doubt. All the emotions the devil wants you to harbor and stew in so you feel like a sh*tty failure again- all to hold you down and back from achieving your full potential.

Instead, focus on the positives- be proud of yourself for even trying something hard! Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest. Be proud you’ve reflected enough to even say, “ya, you know what, I need to change something here and this is how I’m going to try and do it.”

I might not be the best at following through on my goals YET ( side not, I’m a big picture dreamer and visionary) but I am going to be proud of myself today for taking a few steps forwards in the right direction.

Jesus: servant & son of man.

Jesus said this of Himself: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”,

There’s actually 2 names in here - son of man and one who serves. The implications of this are huge.
Jesus is actually the son of God as well, but he preferred to be called son of man, because he didn’t like to reveal his power or majesty. He wanted to be seen as level with man, and be as humanly possibly to relate with us.
He did this in order to show us how to love one another and serve one another.

Jesus: light of the world .

“ Light is beautiful, mysterious and practical. It shows us the way to where we need to go. Light helps us to see the truth of all that is around us. In Jesus we see the light of life, the way to God.

Who does Jesus say he is?

“ I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end” Revelation 22:13

These are the first and last letters in the Greek alphabet- Jewish rabbis would use these symbols to create a sense of wholeness and fulfillment.
Simply put, Jesus is saying he was at the beginning of all things ( Genesis reference of in the beginning) and he will be there at the end of time.
