Rethink, recompose, replan.

Plan A.) take Ve out to the arena and just chill without running me over.

New plan.) get halter on Ve and give her treats.

So many times we have a plan in our heads of what we are going to get done that day that we forget that these are animals that don’t always agree with our plan. Especially the training horses. It is OKAY to change your plan if you need to. It is OKAY to go take a breath away from your animal when you feel frustrated. They can sense the frustration and anger in you and when you get that they won’t work for you. It is OKAY that your big milestones may be someone else’s baby steps. Things take time and when we rush is when holes are created.

On a more upbeat note, yesterday Mac read how much his mama needed a hug. He was a little unsure but he let me hug him anyways. I will never believe anyone who says these horse don’t have the ability to read what we need as much as we want to be able to read them. They feel things like we do and are willing to offer us what we need when we truly need it. I love this horse so much, even when he is making everything so frustrating. It’s moments like this that remind me that he’s trying.
