Mama.ppd.therapist Hey there mama, my name is Alicia Zayas, LCSW and PMH-C I am here to help support postpartum moms who are dealing with Depression and get beyond the baby blues

That feeling you keep brushing off as "just being tired" or "just part of being a mom"?

It might be something more.

So many mamas tell me:

"I thought this was just what motherhood felt like."

And that breaks my heart β€” because suffering in silence is never the bar.

Feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, disconnected, or like you've completely lost yourself since having your baby are signs β€” not personality flaws, not weakness, and definitely not something you just push through.

The fact that these feelings have been so normalized is exactly why so many mamas don't get help. You deserve more than just coping. You deserve to actually feel better.

Therapy isn't just for mamas who are falling apart. It's for mamas who are tired of holding it all together alone.

If this stopped your scroll β€” follow me.

I offer free consultation calls so we can talk through what you're experiencing, no pressure, no commitment. Just a real conversation about getting you back to yourself.

Accepting virtual clients in California, in-person clients in Tulare county and my Postpartum Therapy Group waiting list is filling up!

Big girls do cry...

You know that voice in your head that keeps a running list of everything you didn't do, didn't say, didn't handle perfectly?
Yeah. She lies.

PPD has a way of convincing you that you're failing β€” when really, you're fighting. Every single day. And that counts for so much more than your brain is giving you credit for right now.
So let this be your reminder today, mama:
βœ… The baby is fed.
βœ… You texted back.
βœ… You got through yesterday.
That is enough.
You are enough.
The version of you that's struggling right now? She's not who you are forever. She's who you are in a really hard season β€” and she deserves grace, not guilt.

πŸ’› Save this for the next time your brain tries to tell you otherwise.

Share this with a mama who needs to hear it today β€” you might not know how much she needs it right now.

And if you're deep in it and need more than an affirmation to get through β€” I've got you. Individual therapy spots are open and my PPD group waitlist is filling up.
Drop a πŸ’› in the comments or DM me and let's talk about getting you back to yourself, faster.

Let's bust some dangerous myths about postpartum mental health. πŸ‘Š
MYTH: "It's just the baby blues, you'll get over it"
TRUTH: Baby blues last max 2 weeks. Still struggling at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months? That's PPD/PPA and it needs treatment.
MYTH: "Good mothers don't feel rage toward their babies"
TRUTH: Rage is a symptom of depletion. Your nervous system is screaming that you need help.
MYTH: "You should bond with your baby instantly"
TRUTH: Postpartum Depression can create emotional numbness. It doesn't mean you don't love your babyβ€”it means your brain needs support.
MYTH: "Intrusive thoughts mean you're dangerous"
TRUTH: Intrusive thoughts are anxiety's way of trying to protect your baby. They're distressing BECAUSE you'd never act on them.
MYTH: "Asking for help means you're failing at motherhood"
TRUTH: Asking for help means you're human. And smart. And breaking generational cycles of suffering in silence.

The biggest myth of all?
That you just have to "push through" and it'll get better on its own.
Postpartum Depression is a CLINICAL CONDITION that responds incredibly well to evidence-based therapy. You don't have to white-knuckle your way through this.
You deserve:
✨ To feel like yourself again
✨ To experience joy with your baby
✨ To not feel like you're drowning every day
✨ Professional support without judgment
If even ONE of these myths resonated with you, please know: you're not broken, you're not a bad mom, and you don't have to do this alone.

πŸ’¬ DM me "Ready" if you're ready to stop believing the lies and start healing
πŸ’Ύ Save this to remind yourself (or send to a struggling mama)

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KEEP PRETENDING

the Instagram version of motherhood is a lie.

Not because the joyful moments don't exist, but because the algorithm doesn't reward honesty.

Here is your behind the scenes reality check:

If you saw yourself in even one of the slides please hear me

You are not failing! Your brain and body have been through a massive transformation! What you're experiencing is a symptom of postpartum depression or anxiety. Not a reflection of your worth as a mother.

You deserve more than a survival mode. You deserve support, validation, And real evidence based help!
