Training isn’t about correcting your dog after the fact…

It’s about teaching them what TO do instead.

Puppies don’t just learn here…

There’s something really special about watching it click—
👉 the moment a puppy chooses to focus
👉 the moment they offer a sit instead of jumping
👉 the moment their person realizes… “Oh! I can do this.”
Kate has a way of making training feel calm, clear, and actually enjoyable (for both ends of the leash 😊)
No pressure. No overwhelm.
Just guidance, timing, and a quiet little…
“oh dear…” when needed 😌🐾
And somehow… it all starts to come together.

One of the most common things we hear:
“How do I get my dog to stop jumping!”
And honestly? They’re not being bad… they’re just excited to be with you 💛And your muzzle is way up there😄

Here’s the part that surprises people:
👉 We don’t push them off (or knee them in the chest~never do that!)
👉 We don’t get loud or squeeze paws
👉 We don’t turn it into a big reaction
Kate simply… waits.
Calm. Neutral.
Maybe a quiet little “Oh dear…” 😅
And the moment those paws come back down?
👉 That’s when the magic happens
👉 That’s when the reward comes
Because THAT is the behavior we want them to repeat.

Dogs do what works.
If jumping gets attention → they jump
If calm gets rewarded → they choose calm

It’s simple… but not always easy without guidance. Show them what they should do instead. Show them how to greet you politely. Lather, rinse, and repeat.

Celebrating another Basic Obedience Graduation! This session truly exceeded our expectations. We had an incredible time with this group—everyone showed remarkable progress. From the first week to week six, it was inspiring to witness the transformation and the shift in energy among the participants. The way they tackled the brain games on their final night was truly impressive! We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm everyone brought to the class. It was a pleasure to teach such a motivated and supportive group. As we look forward to the next session after a little Spring Break, we hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved rest and continues to practice the skills they've acquired.
