A Second Chance For Devin

Sometimes the healing we pray for doesn’t come in the way we want or expect it. But we are at peace knowing that Devin is in fact healed! With a heavy heart and great sadness we bring news of Devin’s passing. He was called home to be with our Heavenly Father last night. We know that he was greeted with great joy by his sweet baby Jacee and his beloved companion Lucy. We will update with information for his celebration of life ceremony as it’s available. Thank you all for your continued support during this time. Please keep our family lifted in prayer. Goodbye for now, but forever in our hearts. Rest easy Devin. Your work here is done. We miss you already!

UPDATE: we finally have a room in the ICU. We met with the cardiology team to discuss the current state of things and the plan for moving forward. Because of the cardiogenic shock, Devin’s kidneys aren’t functioning. They are placing a port and will begin dialysis within the hour. He is still having difficulty breathing. We discussed placing Devin on a ventilator should his breathing continue to decline. His lab work was very abnormal and the doctors believe the infection is more severe than was originally anticipated. They were very honest with us in saying that the prognosis is poor. We will be staying the night here with him in the ICU. Please continue to lift him in prayer. We believe in the Great Healer and are asking for a miracle for Devin. We will continue to post updates here as things progress through the night. Thank you all for your continued support.

Devin went for pericentesis yesterday. They removed 11 liters of fluid this time. As you can imagine, this is very hard for him! He came home and slept most of the evening. Hoping for a better day today. Please keep Devin lifted in prayer. Thanks for your continued support.

We will be participating in the Great Scarecrow takeover hosted by the Bremen Junior Women’s Club also!
Voting opens October 7th and ends October 21st at the conclusion of the Great Pumpkin fest. Voting polls will be at participating businesses downtown. Votes are $1 each. You may vote more than once. Winner will get a cash prize! Make sure to watch for the scarecrow displays and show Devin some love!
