I have escaped the Hospital once again! We are on our way home.

This was just a miner set back. I developed a fungal infection in my right lung and it was leaking fluid. Dr. had to drain it pulling 800 ml from around the right lung. They are sending me home on IV antibiotics. Dr's said this is not uncommon, thanks to our Oklahoma Air quality. 🙄

Thanks again for all the continued prayers!

Back in the hospital till Tuesday or Wednesday. We got some good news and some new we where not expecting. The acid reflux surgery site they said looks good.
The news we were not expecting- my esophagus has spasms they think is what is causing the problem.
They also found fluid around the right lung. The doctor did a small procedure and drained almost a liter of fluid from around the lung. I definitely felt the difference as soon as he was done.

Thanks for following my Just Breathe
page!

Well, I had Dr's appointment with my transplant team today. It didn't go well 😕 Nothing too major, but I'm heading back to the city tomorrow. They are doing another broncoscpy Friday morning and depending on how that goes I may be admitted back in the hospital.
Dr thinks that the surgery I had done for acid reflux is causing some complications. He thinks it's too tight and causing reflux and things are getting in to my right lung. If that's the case they will admit me and have a Gastroenterology Dr go in and stretch it out and that should take care of it. Please keep the prayers coming that this is just a simple set back.
I will update as soon as I know something.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Our Christmas will be low key, just Jim & I. We are planning to have a family gathering in a fer months. I'm really trying to keep for getting sick. Came down with a cold this week. This is not a big deal for most, but for me it could turn in to a big deal. Sure am going to miss all my family!

Healing is still going good. Still having a little pain but nothing to bad. I still have things I can't do so I'm starting to get bored. So looking forward to getting back to somewhat of a normal life. Miss seeing and talking to everyone!! Phone calls & text are welcome!

Please keep my donors family in your prayers as this is their first holiday with out their loved one! I'm so thankful for their selfless gifts of life for many others like myself. God please be with them now and forever!

Being home is so wonderful! I slept better last night in my own bed. Have had lots of cuddles from my fur baby's. Have even been doing laundry and other small things that I didn't think I would miss. Back to getting in more steps. Had a visit for my neighbors, it was really good to see them. Thanks Lisa & Kenny for the potpie, hashbrown casserole, & bread.

Good morning everyone! This is a fantastic day, we are going to be heading home. Waiting on Billy and Kristi and packing up the motor home. We will still have to make weekly trips to the city for Dr's appointments, but at least I will be home in my house, my bed and with my fur baby's. Looking forward to seeing my family & friends!

Just a quick up date: broncoscpy went well today. Dr said everything looks good. He did do some biopsy as a normal procedure. As long as they are good and my labs on Thursday look good, he said I should be home soon. I'm so ready to be back to some normalcy!

Not the best picture, but it will have to do for now. It's been one month today since my DLT- Double-Lung Transplant. Everything is still going great! I'm doing some of the cooking, dishes, and cleaning, not that we have much cleaning. I will have my one month broncoscpy on Tuesday and Dr's appointment on Thursday and if all goes well I could be home by this the weekend. This journey has not at all been what I was expecting. God has definitely had his hands on it from the beginning. Thank you everyone for all the prayers they have worked. Keep them coming! This is definitely the most wonderful time of year!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Although we weren't able to spend ours with family, we did get to have the traditional meal. We got takeout from Ramsay's kitchen. We are so thankful for this second chance I have been given! Been thinking a lot about my donor and there family. Praying they find peace in knowing there loved one saved lives.

Things continue to go well with me. I've had a few bad days. Nothing serious just some pain. Dr said everything is going great!

I got out for a bit on Thursday day 13. We had some things we needed to pick up at the store, so road along. Still not able to be out in public yet, so i stayed in the car. While we were out we got a special treat. If you ever get to OKC you need to go check out Yonuts. We had a donut with ice cream in the middle. If was so good!

I feel great and the Dr's says I'm doing fantastic. I will see them again on Wednesday. They are talking like I may get to come home by mid December.
This has been quite the wheral windy of a journey. Although I'm not back to my old self yet, I do feel and see the light at the end. I'm so looking forward to doing all the things I took for granted till I could no longer do them .

For all of you that continue to follow my journey, Thank you! You are a blessing in my life! Continue with the prayers and good thoughts they are truly working.
Feeling soThankful for the donor family and my thoughts and prayers are with them always!
