Breastfeeding is natural — but that doesn't mean it's easy. And you shouldn't have to figure it out alone at 2am, googling in a panic with a crying baby on your chest.
I'm Kelsey — RN, IBCLC, military spouse, and mom of two. I started Latch & Co. because I've been in that hard, exhausted place, and I wanted every postpartum family on Oahu to have someone truly in their corner.
I come to you — your home, your couch, your comfort zone. No clinic waiting rooms. Just real, evidence-based support where you actually need it.
If you're struggling, or just want to get ahead of it — I'd love to help. 🌿

🌧️ To every Oahu family navigating this right now —

I see you. This is hard. A flood emergency with a newborn or a breastfeeding baby is a lot.

Please focus on staying safe first. Feeding can be figured out — that’s what I’m here for.

If you’re stressed, your supply may dip. If you had to skip feeds or pumping sessions, we can work through it. If you’re formula supplementing right now out of necessity, that is the right call.

You are doing the right thing. 🤍

When things settle, text me if you need support. I’m not going anywhere. 🌿

Your baby is talking to you — you just have to learn the language. 🤱
Newborn feeding cues happen in stages, and catching them early makes latching so much smoother for both of you.
Early cues (start here!):
👅 Rooting — turning head, opening mouth
👋 Hand to mouth movement
😮 Lip smacking or sucking sounds
Active cues (still good, act now):
🤲 Stretching, fidgeting, moving arms & legs
💬 Soft fussing
Late cues (feeding will be harder here):
😭 Crying — baby is already stressed and harder to latch
The goal? Feed at early or active cues every time. Crying means we waited a little too long — totally normal, just calm baby first, then latch.
Save this for your 3am reference. 📌
Questions about latch or feeding frequency? I’m here. 🌿

I recently helped a Wahiawa family struggling with a painful latch and low supply during an in-home visit. I checked positioning, screened for tongue-tie, and set a simple pumping plan to boost output. Within a week their baby latched more easily, mom had less pain, and milk increased. Nurse-led care like this is available in-person or virtually to support new parents and military families on Oahu. You don’t have to do it alone — book a visit: https://wix.to/uT79Imw

Breastfeeding feeling uncomfortable? Let’s try a quick fix. 🤍

Before you assume something major is wrong, try:
✅ Adjust baby’s position
✅ Check/deepen the latch
✅ Change the ni**le angle (tiny shifts matter!)
✅ Use a pillow for support

A little tenderness early on can be normal — but sharp, pinchy, cracked, or worsening pain isn’t something you have to “push through.”

If it still hurts after a few adjustments, reach out. I can help you troubleshoot quickly (virtual or in-home on Oʻahu). 🌿

Breastfeeding feel uncomfortable? You don't have to "just push through." 🤍

A quick checklist to try:
- Re-check latch (baby in close, chin leading)
- Aim your ni**le toward the roof of baby's mouth
- Adjust your position
- Use a pillow/support so you're not holding all the weight

If it still hurts after a few adjustments, please reach out for help – persistent pain is a sign we should assess what's going on (not something you're supposed to tolerate).
