As a student of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I aim to look at an individual's health as an entire entity rather than a series of symptoms. We each know what is best for us but can often use some assistance with accountability as well as clearing some of the confusion surrounding diets, nutrition, and fitness. That's where I'm here to help! Working with me typically consists of biweekly sessions to talk about goals, set up a system of achieving them, and addressing the areas of life that impact these goals. I have always been an athlete within various sports and interested in diet and nutrition, as well as overall healthful lifestyles. In the last few years, I have incorporated more nutrition, holistic living, and yoga practice into my life as well. In doing so, I have experienced an exponential growth in its benefits to my mind and body and would love to help others begin their own paths of self discovery and growth! With years of personal experience and after acquiring a teaching certification in 2013, I have created an approach to Hatha yoga practice that is fit for beginners as well as experienced yogis, and everything in between! With my personal approach to yoga, I feel healthier and feel more happiness in my life than I ever had in years past. I am confident that HappyYoga will bring you onto your mat with optimism and help you reach your goals. Yoga is an excellent way to focus on inward growth and tranquility, as well as a strong resource for pursuing greater muscle strength, balance, and flexibility. It is my intention to help my students.....practice yoga safely with detail to each pose ..feel relaxation on and off the mat..make healthy choices with their bodies and mind..create a space for happiness to grow..and experience the body and mind benefits of yoga! So I get out of the house and change my surroundings. See new things, think new things. Let my body process thoughts and revisit my free time when I am more centered...1 hour later...
Clear head, remotivated, accomplishing, grateful, and calm. Most importantly, embracing my resistance to being productive and doing something active and unrelated often provokes greater productivity once I grant myself those guilt-free escapes. Liz Barney

Today I'm beginning a 40 day meditation challenge. Sometimes I choose smaller lengths of time or just try to do the best I can without as much regularity, but I'm feeling up for a more rewarding challenge. 40 days is historically a very powerful number to challenge oneself for life changes.
Are you ready to change your life in 40 days? Join me! Choose something you would like to manifest or choose to open yourself up to new opportunities, then let the meditation do the work. Now sure how to meditate? There are many ways, and even 5 minutes a day is better than nothing. I recommend searching the Huffington Post for lots of great reads on it.
