So excited to partner with ! Safety cue examples👇
It’s a skillset to know how to recognize your physical, emotional, and mental safety cues, so if this is new or challenging for you, go easy on yourself and know that it takes practice.
And remember safety cues are something that indicates to you that you are physically, emotionally, or mentally safe. I’ll give some examples of each category below, but please note that these safety cues can be different per person. For example, being alone with my door locked might be a physical safety cue to me where for someone this might not be the case.
Here are some general examples of each category:
Physical cues: “I have food in my refrigerator I can eat”, “I can see my dog is relaxed next to me”, “My door is locked and I am alone”
Emotional cues: “I can call my friend and I know they’ll listen and support me”, “The people around me are kind and love me”, “I know how to hold boundaries and I know the person I’m going to hold a boundary with respects me”
Mental cues: “I know my current time, location, and age”, “I know what resources I have and who I can call if I need anything”
Thanks for tuning into a micro-regulation session with me! I’ve recorded an entire meditation playlist With for you to listen to before you go to sleep and when you wake up in the morning to help you relax and regulate. Check out the link in their bio to learn more and try it out for yourself!
