Limitless Lactation with Tami Dukie CLC CLE Limitless Lactation Has Closed Permanently Hello! My name is Tami Jo Dukie. I welcome and provide care for ALL family types. LGBTQI++ welcome, respected and loved!

I have been in the Lactation Consultant business for over 20 years, working as a private practice Lactation Specialist/Lactation Counselor/Lactation Educator, and running a Lactation Clinic inside Foothills Pediatrics for Dr. Dennis Moore and the late Dr. Ralph Conti. I have spent the last 17 years in Las Vegas, meeting new families, building trusting relationships, and doing all I can to improve

the nursing relationships within the families that I have the joy to meet! I am very passionate about breastfeeding/chestfeeding awareness and promotion, legislation, and the rights of breastfeeding/chestfeeding parents in this country. I am the very blessed mother of 2 amazing now adult children. Audrey is 25 and was breastfed for 2 years, and Gracie, who is 20, was breastfed until their 5th birthday. My husband John blesses my life every single day with his love and support, of me, of my work, of our family. In the 7 years I spent nursing my own children, I went thru latch troubles, tongue tie, plugged ducts, oversupply, overactive (READ: VOLCANIC!!) letdown, breast infections and a total lack of extended family support. I have been there, walked that road, and I can absolutely empathize. I have had the absolute privilege of helping thousands of nursing pairs and triads over the last 20 years, and I hope to spend the rest of my life helping as many more as I possibly can. If you are pregnant, and interested in breastfeeding/chestfeeding, or if you have an adoption/surrogacy plan in place, and you are interested in breastfeeding/chestfeeding your new baby that is coming (YES! YOU CAN!) please don't hesitate to call. I offer private in-home breastfeeding/chestfeeding classes for married couples, single parents and same sex couples. ALL GENDERS AND GENDER EXPRESSIONS ARE WELCOME AND RESPECTED. Your in-home class is tailored specifically to meet the needs of YOUR family, and your specific situation, not a generic group class that might not even speak to the specific questions you have. GAY AND LESBIAN FAMILIES WELCOME
TRANSGENDER FAMILIES WELCOME
NONBINARY FAMILIES WELCOME
POLY FAMILIES WELCOME

I became an Attachment Parent and then a Lactation Consultant for 23 years because of her and Dr Bill. They radicalized me. That I could do better, be better, demand better of myself as a parent. They allowed me to leave the toxic mothering I received behind. I'll be forever grateful. RIP Martha. And Thank You. From the bottom of my heart.

FROM THE SEARS FACEBOOK PAGE:
Hello everyone. Matthew here (one of Dr. Bill and Martha’s sons). I am greatly saddened to share that our precious Mom has passed away. Martha had lived with a chronic lung disease for most of her life, and in recent years it had taken an increasingly harder toll on her health. On June 28th, Martha passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Her home has been filled to the brim with kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids this past week as we have been spending a beautiful time together celebrating her incredible life and legacy. We’ve been reflecting on all the lessons that she taught us kids through her example of what it means to be a parent, lessons which she also loved to share with so many others through her teaching and writing. She often referred to this as her ministry – a ministry that now lives on through each of us kids, as well as through each and every one of you who she impacted in so many ways.

Thank you all for the outpouring of love our family has already received. We have been so comforted by the beautiful and inspiring memories of Martha's impact on countless families around the world. To the world she was known as Nurse Martha, childbirth educator, lactation consultant, attachment parenting advocate, author, and soulmate to Dr. Bill for 60 years.

To us kids, she was simply Mom.

We love you, Mom. Thank you for everything.

Whether or not a parent chooses to feed their baby from their own body is the business of the parent.

It is not the business of the pediatrician.

It is not the business of their mother in law, or sister in law, or even their husband or partner.

It is the business of the person doing the work.

I was a Lactation Consultant for 22 years. In those 22 years, I gave a lot of people "permission" to make a different choice in feeding their baby that had nothing to do with feeding their baby from their own body.

I taught a whole lot of people how to safely formula feed. Gave a lot of advice on the best bottles to buy for facial development. Gave a lot of advice on proper washing and sterilization of bottles. Gave a lot of advice on what were actually the very best formulas on the market, and not for nothing, most of those formulas are not sold in the United States.

Breastfeeding is not for everybody. And there are plenty of people who figure out that it's not for them in the middle of giving it a shot. And guess what? It's completely fine to make a different decision. And again, that decision is the business of the person doing the work.

If you don't like the feeding decision that someone has made for their baby, have your own baby and make the decision you feel is correct. You have no right to speak on how someone else chooses to feed their child. Period.

Breastfeeding is wonderful.
Formula feeding is wonderful. Providing human milk from a bottle exclusively, is wonderful.

As long as that baby is being fed clean, healthy milk, that parent is doing a great job.

For the record, I will also stand up for adoptive parents.

Adoptive parents have every right to choose breastfeeding for their child. Yes, you can induce lactation, even if you have never been pregnant in your life. Yes, it absolutely helps with bonding between an adoptive parent and their new child. This can also be done if your baby is delivered by a surrogate. This can be done with a baby who's a few months old. It doesn't necessarily have to be a newborn.

Babies can breastfeed off of the body of their adoptive parent, even if that adoptive parent has absolutely no milk of their own. They can use a lactation aid that delivers the milk to the baby, while they are suckling at the breast/chest. This is incredibly helpful with bonding.

And guess what? If an adoptive parent chooses the path of breastfeeding, and feeding their baby from their body, that choice is wonderful and valid, and made with love. Anybody who thinks it's weird because they didn't give birth needs to close their damn mouth and go mind their own business.

You would not believe the s**t that I heard from people in that many years. Absolutely unreal.

Mind your damn business. Worry about your own t**s.

In my 23 years providing in home lactation, services to 100's of families, I also encountered men like this. I had a client husband one time that literally told his wife that he is the one who purchased her breasts for her, therefore they belonged to him, and he is the one that gets to make decisions about how they are utilized. He said that in front of me. He told me that if he had been the one to answer the door, I would not be sitting in his house.

I had more people then I can count, come to my house to have their consult. Because their spouse was so unsupportive, they couldn't receive services in their own house. 3 or 4 days postpartum, and they had to drive, with the newborn, to my house to receive services.

You may think that this is a far fetched story, and certainly somebody made it up for social media content, but I can assure you, it does happen, and I have seen it happen, and it is absolutely bats**t crazy.

If you are married to this type of a person, or you are living with this type of a person, or you are making babies with this type of a person, I encourage you to get the hell out of there. It doesn't get any better from here..

Buy the seat with the highest rear-facing limits, then keep that child rear-facing as long as you can. If a new seat comes out that rear-faces longer, upgrade your seat if you can financially.

Find a CPST in your area. Not all fire or police stations have them.

I used to always tell new parents, the two things to spend REAL money on when you expand your family are a high quality breast pump (if feeding your baby from your body is your plan) and CAR SEATS. Car seats are supposed to be a big expense. That's the point. You get what you pay for, and this is life and death. This is no time to look for "the cheapest". Do the best you can, get the best seat you can afford.

Having a shower? Ask for donations to a car seat fund! Spend the money where it will do the most good! Clothes/blankets can be thrifted. So can decor. Spend wisely when you expand your family and get the very best, longest rear-facing, car seat you can afford.

It's been a year today since I retired from my life's work running Limitless Lactation. A whole year. I cannot adequately describe how much I miss it. But I know that I made the right choice. I could NEVER do the job now. My hands are SO bad now. I feel so grateful that for 22 years, I got to do something so sacred.
