Really good reminder!

Between the hauling and the runs themselves, our horses’ bodies are constantly absorbing impact and compensating for fatigue. Just because they aren’t visibly lame does not mean they might not be on the edge of a problem.

Your horse’s body will keep going — until it can’t. Horses are masters of compensation.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀:
• Up to 77% of horses presented for poor performance are found to have musculoskeletal issues — often with no clear signs of lameness. Only 15% are due to internal medicine issues like respiratory or GI problems. (Kidd et al.)
• Soft tissue injuries (tendons and ligaments) are found to be the most common in rodeo, often caused by repetitive strain. Unless due to direct trauma, these injuries build on itself before officially injuring. Soft tissue injury offer requires 6–12+ months to heal and frequently reoccur if underlying mechanics aren’t addressed.
• A study showed that forelimb lameness accounted for over 70% of performance-limiting issues, particularly in horses competing in barrel racing and roping.
• Insufficient conditioning and too-rapid increases in workload can lead to stress fractures in bones like the humerus and tibia — especially in horses that sit off-season and then return to competition.

The goal isn’t just to win today. It’s to keep your horse healthy, competitive, and sound over the long haul. Training for soundness is what takes a horse from good to great — and keeps them there.

What is the Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse Therapy System?

The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse Therapy System is a non-invasive FDA approved Microcurrent therapy for neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, as well as pain management. Based off clinical trials, when properly used there is a minimum 50% accelerated recovery rate. What sets this therapy system apart from other modalities is the biofeedback system. It gathers the cellular information, internally adjusts then delivers the appropriate amount of microcurrent the body needs for self-repair, without overstimulating the tissue. My instruments are animal calibrated which is important for the biofeedback readings to be accurate, the biofeedback has a computer circuitry system that is pre-programmed with specific information allowing the instruments to interface with the animal tissue.

The Electro-Acuscope is the primary instrument and works directly through the Central Nervous System, which consists of the brain and spinal cord. The Acuscope creates homeostasis within the body by normalizing the level of current in the nerve cells. With the one of a kind biofeedback system the instrument has the capability to take readings throughout the body to monitor the tissue and pinpoint areas of cellular dysfunction.

The Electro-Myopulse is the companion instrument to the Acusope designed to have direct access to the soft and connective tissues in the body. By monitoring the requirements of the soft and connective tissues the appropriate waveform patterns are sent in to normalize the tissue, while balancing the electro-magnetic field at the same time.

When using properly calibrated Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse instruments the body will be able to recognize the level of current delivered, and respond efficiently to the treatment, creating a balanced state within the body.

Is this therapy system only for injured horses?

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla, the owner of Diamond K Equine Therapy. I have loved animals my whole life and knew I wanted my career to be helping horses in some way. After attending several webinars and talking with their top rated instructor Molly Wells I was blown away by the incredible benefits and decided to pursue the certification. I have completed over 100 hours of in person training and passed the written and oral exams.
