I’m passionate about all things that surround birth and love when parents feel more empowered to ask questions. Hearing that parents felt more prepared leading into birth is the best! Becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator is an integral part of my practice is supporting moms and families.

✨Placenta Encapsulation✨

Placenta encapsulation has been said to:

As a certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist trained by , I process the placenta into pills and a tincture using food safety standards, I wear full PPE, I use single use items whenever possible, and used a traditional steamed method.

This service includes:
✨ Placenta Pills
✨ Placenta Tincture
✨ Art Print

This can be done from a placenta that has been frozen or you can contact me right when you have your baby. It’s best to reach out before to provide safe handling instructions and coordinate pick-up/drop-off.

Note: Not every placenta is safe to encapsulate so reach out if you’re interested.

Did you know baby’s can be born with bruising?

This can happen for very fast deliveries and the bruising will go away quickly. Some can have bruising from being OP or “sunny-side-up” during delivery which tend to have a longer pushing period. This can also happen from AVD and in this case healing from the bruising may take more time.

✨ The Womb Within studio ✨

I’ve been working on this space since June and it’s been fun to see that way it’s grown and changed. This is where we hold birth classes. It has a full bathroom, kitchenette with snacks and private parking accessible through the alley.

I’d love to start a ✨ fourth trimester ✨ mom & baby series this Winter in this space with feeding support, birth processing, snacks & coffee!

Mom walks every Friday at 10am — open to all pregnant & postpartum mamas ✨

Come bundled for the fall weather! 🍂 We do 1-3 laps around the paved trail. If you are worried about having to stop to feed baby, there are benches along the way!

Bring a baby carrier & stroller for options. We all know those days where baby doesn’t sleep all night or nap all day, you’re not alone!

Offerings this month! Prepare for birth in confidence! Take at any point during your pregnancy. These classes I co-teach with .rebel.birth.services✨

For anyone pregnant and due soon, Takara also has doula availability this month and next if you’re looking for birth support! I have availability starting in March (I take some last minute clients too so don’t hesitate to reach out as you head to the hospital)! We love to see a community that is supported so reach out even for last minute doula support or classes.

What is a doula?

I get asked what a doula is so much! Short answer — we provide support for the mom and partner through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We are not medical provers, we don’t catch babies, we don’t give medical advice

Every doula will have different specialties and certifications. Although certifications are not required due to the nature of doula work being something passed down generationally in many cultures, ask during an interview if that is important to you when choosing a doula.

I’m certified in both Oregon and Washington. CPR certified and background checked along with other specialty certifications you can find on my site.

✨ immediate postpartum ✨ is often not talked about at all during prenatal visits with your provider. We have so much knowledge online with Google but it leaves people overwhelmed or sometimes scared by all the result.

I love encouraging parents to ask questions about what this looks like with your provider before birth:

the Placenta
What is your standard procedures, what to expect and what choices do I have?

Ask about: Pitocin, Cord Traction, time limits they may have, fundal massage, Active vs Expectant management and the protocol for keeping your placenta if you’d like.

Cord cutting
Ask what your options look like? What does delayed cord clamping means to your provider or birthing location standard?
