What You Don’t Speak Up About, You Normalize
💛 God designed marriage for connection, not silent suffering. When we avoid difficult conversations, we don’t protect our relationship—we create distance. Unspoken hurts don’t heal on their own.
As Drs. John & Julie Gottman teach, strong relationships aren’t about avoiding conflict, but learning to navigate it with love, respect, and grace—the same way Christ calls us to love one another.
3 Faith-Centered Ways to Speak Up & Strengthen Your Marriage:
1️⃣ Speak the Truth in Love – “Let your conversation be always full of grace.” (Colossians 4:6) Instead of holding in frustrations, express your needs gently: “I feel hurt when… Can we pray and talk about it?” 💬
2️⃣ Turn Toward, Not Away – “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12) Small moments of connection build trust. Listen, respond, and lean into each other.
3️⃣ Repair with Grace – “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2) No marriage is perfect, but God’s love allows us to heal, forgive, and grow together.
💡 Your voice matters. Your marriage matters. Healthy couples speak with love, listen with humility, and grow together in Christ.
