A community health worker (CHW) is a trusted member of the community who bridges the gap between the community and the healthcare system. CHWs around the world, CHWs provide support to the communities they live in through outreach and education, assistance with navigating the healthcare system, connecting individuals and families to resources, and so much more. Three years ago, the National Association of Community Health Workers developed an event raise awareness of the CHW workforce.
