Last week, I had the honor and privilege of meeting with the Johnson County Ambulance District.

We discussed House Bill (HB) 2597, which I was proud to co-sponsor with my colleague, Representative Dave Hinman. This bill aims to provide additional support to our paramedics. EMTs and ambulance districts across the state.

It's always great to meet with the people of our district and hear the issues they care about.

Please welcome Alex Bray as one of our new part-time EMTs!

Alex is a recent graduate of the JCAD EMT program and brings several months of experience from a nearby agency. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through running and weightlifting, as well as riding motorcycles.

Drew joins us with about a year of experience as an EMT at a nearby agency. In his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

We are still enrolling for our July paramedic program, but we are also excited to announce that we are again offering an Accelerated EMT program this summer starting on June 29th and running for 6 weeks at our Warrensburg campus. Or if that time line doesn't work that we have our traditional EMT class in the fall. Links below to sign up and any further questions.

Our next class enrollment is live and accepting students now. We will be again offering one the class days at the new AMR Headquarters in Independence. Class will start on July 9th, spot fill quickly so don't wait till it's too late.

Congratulations to Bre Yates on being named Paramedic of the Year and to Nathaniel Winters for receiving the EMT of the Year award.

Many other honors were presented during the evening, including recognition for a cardiac arrest save, an outstanding performance award, and many Star of Life awards.
