J O Y

Joy isn't just a feeling. It's a way of living.

Feelings shift with the weather of life—sunshine one day, storms the next. But joy remains. Not because our circumstances are always easy, but because our source is unshakable.

I've come to realize joy doesn't deny grief, struggle, or weariness—it coexists with them. It’s the quiet strength when the noise is loud. It’s choosing to stand firm when life tries to push you under.

"The joy of the Lord is our strength" isn't just a verse to quote—it’s a lifeline to hold onto. In loss, in waiting, in unknowns... we can still live joyfully because our joy is rooted in Him.

So no matter the storm or the shadows, I choose joy. Every day. Not because I always feel it, but because He is always faithful.

JESUS IS OUR SOURCE OF JOY

I saw this quote recently on a shirt and while I dont know who to give credit to I had some deep thoughts on this one-liner!

“I worship loud because my wounds are deep.”

Some worship quietly. Some with lifted hands. Some with tears that barely fall. But me—I worship loud. Not because I have it all together, but because I don’t. Because every shout is a testimony, and every hallelujah echoes from valleys I never thought I’d crawl out of.

My wounds run deep. Life has pierced me in ways no one saw, but Jesus did. And when He met me there—in the mess, in the silence, in the heartbreak—He didn’t flinch. He stayed. He healed. Not all at once, but faithfully, piece by piece.

So now I worship not out of performance, but out of survival. Out of gratitude. Because the louder I worship, the more I drown out shame and silence the lies that once defined me. I worship loud because the enemy tried to keep me quiet. Because my scars aren’t signs of defeat—they’re evidence of resurrection.

Jesus is worthy of quiet praise, yes. But sometimes, He’s also worthy of a shout from the depths. From someone who knows that grace isn’t cheap and healing wasn’t painless.

So if you hear me worshiping loud, know that it’s a war cry of victory, a sound born from wounds that only Jesus could redeem.

“ I RESPECT YOUR STORM, BUT IT'S YOURS

“There will be a time in life when you will have to look into the eyes of someone close — your partner, a friend, a brother — and say firmly and tenderly:
“I’m going to be honest with you. From now on I will no longer enter the whirlwind of your emotions. I respect them, I understand them, I even honor them.. but they're yours, not mine. I can't live them as if they were part of my soul, because in this journey I also carry my own emotional backpack, and it's the only thing I can carry.

If you decide to stay in that storm, I will support you, always from my place, from my calm. I won't leave you, but I won't lose myself with you either. From here, from my center, I can be a lighthouse, not a ship that sinks with you. I love you, and precisely because I love you, I need to take care of my balance.

Loving is not carrying the weight of another's life on your back; it is walking together, free, light, each owning its own storms. Love does not have to hurt more than necessary; love, when it is genuine, builds, not destroys."

Sometimes, loving also means learning to say, “Here I am, but without forgetting myself.”.

YOU are worth it.
You are worth your time.
You are worth your effort.
You are worth someone else’s time and effort.
You matter.
You are exquisite.
You are lovely.
You are worthy.
You are precious.
You are priceless.
You are unique.
You are amazing.
Remember the person you wanted to be when you were 5, and be that person!

Walk in the worth you HAVE, not the worth you assign yourself. And if you don’t know the difference?

Here is a thought for you...

If Jesus said "yes" to everything you prayed for the last 7 days, what would He be saying "yes" to?

Would it be a good day?
Would it be a better job?
Would it be more obedient kids?
Would it be for blessed food and a good night's sleep?
Would it be for a better car? A bigger house?
Would it be for something you really really want?
Would it be to have more money?

Would it be yes to something/s for you?

Here's a better question....
How would it make the world better?

We get so self focused on our prayers and what the Lord can do for us. But, if we got what we prayed for, would it bring healing to our sick neighbor, would it be a job for the jobless man in our church?

How about this question...
Would it be absolutely nothing because you haven't prayed at all this week?

Do you only go to Jesus when you need something or when something is wrong?

What IF that job you so desperately want means spending less time with your family? What IF more money means your heart would be more greedy or it would bring more problems?
What IF that bigger house means more time cleaning and working and less time for the important things?

What IF Jesus's reason of "wait" or "no" is truly what's best? How is your heart posture in the suffering? In the no? In the wait?

Sometimes what we pray for may not be what is best for us!

If your week of prayers has been self focused, would you maybe take a look at what the world around you needs? Maybe you could be the answer to someone else's prayer.
Prayer is more than asking Jesus for what we want or need. Prayer also involves listening and seeing.

Do your prayers center around making your life better or the world around you better?

Father God.
We praise your faithfulness. We thank you that when your daughters believe in you that you are with us.
We pray for those of us who are walking wounded.
For those who feel as if they are bleeding out, but still showing up for their friends, their kids, spouses, employees, coworkers, and even strangers.
For those whose wounds are so deep and so painful they keep it buried inside, hidden away.
For those who are seeking healing in the wrong places.
For those who are hiding their pain, grief, sorrow, and despair.
For those who have built a fortress around their heart because it has been betrayed so many times.

Lord, we pray that your presence be a healing balm. We pray that in their quiet moments you speak to your daughter’s hearts.
We pray that you meet them at their personal well like you met the Samaritan woman.
We pray that you meet them in the middle of a crowd like you met the women with the issue of blood.
We pray that you meet them in their grief, like you met Mary and Martha in theirs.
We pray you meet them in their anger, like you met Martha in hers.
We pray you meet them in the desert like you met Hagar.
We pray you meet them in their fear like you met Esther.

Lord, we pray as you meet them, their hearts are softened and the walls fall down, that their wounds are uncovered and they feel safe to be vulnerable in the shelter and safety of your presence. We pray for your healing presence ti be like water, so fill every nook and cranny in their heart and that they be refreshed. We pray that as you surround them, calm, soothe, and comfort them that you surround them with godly sisters who can stand with them.
Sisters that will be the kind of friends who will take her to you when she can’t get their on her own. Sisters who will enter into your presence in her behalf. Sisters who in time, she will be able to do the same for.

Today God, we cover those sisters who are wounded and need your healing. We bless your name, Father.
In your Holy and Healing name, God- Amen.

Which one of these is your favorite way to fill your cup?
Engaging in worship and fellowship- this part comes so naturally to me! I have to remember that the Lord grew me in these areas immensely over the last decade, to the point those seem as easy as breathing.

Which one is the hardest?
Mine is daily quiet time. It is something I have to actively schedule and protect because otherwise life overtakes the quiet.

As you get back into the swing of schedules and routines, both old and new,

As you set your goals and intentions for this year,

As you learn more about your purpose, calling, and identity,

I hope you remember how important it is to take care of *you* in the little ways.

Sometimes, even when it’s not Christmas, I find myself wondering about Mary (mother of Jesus)...
How did she, above every other young woman on earth, “find favor with God”?
What were her parents like, to have raised a teenage daughter of such strong faith, yet she ran “in haste” to her aunts home for understanding and wisdom?
Was she ever made fun of for her strong beliefs, her integrity, her absolute faith?
What did that faith look like?
What did her prayers sound like?
Was she like Belle, “a most peculiar girl”, or did people admire her and aspire to ‘be like Mary’? What were her interactions with Joseph like?
Did she admire or love him?
Did he look at her with love and tenderness?
I wonder if she ever felt a moment of pride in knowing only she was chosen for this?
I wonder what she felt the night she delivered him in the stable. Was it fear?
Was it awe, love, peace, understanding?
Was it reverence?
Did she ever favor Jesus over hers and Jospehs children?
Did she fully understand what the prophets said, in its entirety and know how it would end some 36 years later?
Was she ever angry at God for how her son Jesus fulfilled prophecy and died on the cross for mankind?
What was the reunion like when she was received into heaven?
I wonder, in the stillness of that stable, when Joseph was taking care of the animals, and the shepherds had left, when the dawn was perhaps peeking over the horizon, I wonder what her prayers were in those first moments of motherhood, to the King of Kings.
