Here are a few friendly reminders to help make the day more inclusive for kids!

•Be patient. Some kids may communicate or celebrate differently.
•Offer non-food treats to make sure everyone can join in the fun.
•Create sensory-friendly experiences by softer sounds and softer lights so everyone can enjoy the fun longer.

The event will be accessible and sensory friendly with private photo sessions. Families are invited to come early or stay after their photos are taken to enjoy crafts and refreshments.

Navigating an IEP meeting can feel overwhelming, but preparation is key! Check out these 5 tips to help you advocate effectively.

•Come Prepared: Bring copies of important documents, including evaluations, progress reports, and your child’s current IEP. Write down any questions or concerns beforehand.

•Know Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and your child’s legal rights.

•Stay Focused on Goals: Outline clear, measurable goals for your child’s development. Be specific about the support they need to achieve these goals.

•Communicate Effectively: Share your insights as a caregiver. You know your child best—your input is invaluable. Ask for clarification if something isn’t clear.

•Bring a Supporter: Whether it’s a family member, advocate, or friend, having someone there for moral support can make a big difference.

You are your child’s strongest advocate, and your voice matters!
