Words Matter.
How you talk to yourself and others matters. Our words have the ability to speak life or death to a person or situation. Our words can also raise and lower our vibration. You know that saying, "Give and he will give it back to you?" It is true, giving with a cheerful heart will allow blessings to return to you. However, speaking negatively to yourself or others will bring that right back to you. Speaking and thinking negatively can also cause disease.
Today, reflect on how you talk to yourself, your kids, your parents, peers, etc. Are you speaking life or death into them? Remember, people don't forget the words you said to them and how you made them feel. I want to encourage you to avoid speaking negatively about yourself and others; It does not serve you.
Write this affirmation down multiple times daily and say it out loud, watch how things start to work in your favor. We really have the ability to manifest our reality. Let me know the goodness that comes out of it. :-D

Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

A "Failed" Relationship Does Not Define You.
When a relationship is no longer serving us or working for us, we tend to look within and think we failed, and begin to find fault within. *The relationship is not working anymore because it ran its course.*
Every relationship, whether it be platonic, romantic, family or business, is not here for a lifetime. Most relationships are here for a reason and a season, to teach us, and to help us grow. They either add value to our life, or they highlight the things we need to work on.
How do you know when a relationship has run its course? *You will know.* Most of the times, we know, we're just not ready to let go..You will know by how it continues to make you feel. Your higher power doesn't want you in a situation where you are constantly upset, hurt, triggered, where you often feel less than about yourself, constantly having conflict, or confused and feeling insecure. Relationships are not about love and pain. You don't have to hurt to experience love. Love is clear and free.   Sometimes the way we were raised & past relationships have skewed our thought process of what love feels like.
Today, stop making excuses for other people, and stop thinking you "haven't given it your all." You have sis, you have brother. Stop hurting yourself by continuing to hold on. What you are seeing right now is what you are getting. It is OKAY IF IT DOES NOT WORK OUT. Free yourself.

Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

It’s Fri-Yay! Hump Responsibly! 🙃
**Remember, the most common symptom of HIV & most STDs are no symptoms at all.**
Friendly reminder: We all deserve pleasure. Here’s some encouragement to have some fun this weekend and hump responsibly. A few minutes 😉 half hour, or hours of pleasure feels so much better when you have no limits because your partner & you are both informed, have asked the “uncomfortable” questions, have both got tested, and are practicing safe s*x.
Remember, a moment of pleasure can not only impact your s*xual health, but also your physical health, mental health, emotional health & spiritual health. No matter how clean they look or say they are, everyone has an STD until proven otherwise.

You Can't Heal What You Refuse To Feel.
Hey there! How are you feeling? No, how are you really feeling? Are you doing that thing you do with excessive scrolling, emotionally eating, emotionally drinking, or indulging yourself in substances to not feel? In order to heal from something, you must process and embody it so you can heal from it. If we do not process and embody our emotions, it will get stored in our body and come out in other ways such as: Back pain, neck pain, stomach issues, acne, skin rashes, herpes flares, infertility, erectile dysfunction, etc.
I understand that sometimes it may be painful to have to "sit with your s**t," but do know this is happening for you, not to you. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. This is only happening to help you grow. When you are faced with a "hard issue," ask yourself and the universe these questions: "What can I take from this? What have I learned about myself? What do I need? What is working well? What is not working well?" Get your lesson and move forward. Remember, the body always keeps the score, (this is a great book title if you have never read it) and it will remind you of the things you are not tending to.

Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

It’s World AIDS Day & we celebrate this day to unite in the fight against HIV, & to show support to those living with HIV, and to pay respect to those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
HIV does not discriminate. It can impact the young, the older, any age, and any race no matter your s*xuality. So it’s important to make sure to practice safety when working with blood, coming in contact with blood, or s*xually.
Here’s some encouragement to take control of your s*xual health & get tested for HIV. So many strides have been made with this virus, and with the right care & medication, you can live a normal life with HIV. HIV can become undetectable, which means it can’t be transmitted.
If you’re interested in getting tested for HIV, click the link in the bio. Share this with your loved ones, you may save a life. ❤️

I like to have a motto that everyone has an STD until proven otherwise. The most common symptom of HIV & STDs is no symptom at all, so a lot of times people aren’t aware of their status. Make sure you protect yourself and start the conversation.

Your Presence & Time Is A Gift!
Your time is one of your most valuable gifts, make sure you spend your time wisely. I don't know about you, but those 24 hours in a day seem to go by quicker and quicker depending on what's on your plate. The way we spend our time can either energize us or drain us, so it's super important we spend it doing things that fuel us. Same motto goes for the people and things we share our time with, so make sure your battery isn't low and know that it is totally okay to reschedule if you need to.
Your time is also a gift because the time you are spending helping someone else, is the time you can be investing in yourself. Make sure to beware of robbers, who want to take, take, take yet never add value, or compensate. If they don't respect the above, chances are this is a red flag and may be a reflection of how they view you. While we are not responsible for how people view us, we are responsible for how we allow people to treat us. Respect your time and people will respect it, too!

Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

You know that saying, "Worry About Yourself?"
While it may come off a little harsh, depending on the tone, it's true! Are you carrying burdens and worries that are not yours to carry? Sometimes, we can get so boggled down into other people's problems, but all that does it pushes us further away from ourselves. We have to control the things we can control, and we can't control anyone else but ourself. Let go of responsibilities, blame, or burdens that are not yours. What do I mean by this? Here are some examples:

-Let go of trying to get your friend to let go of a toxic relationship. Let them come to it on their own.
-Let go of trying to control your mother's or father's poor eating and drinking habits.
-Let go of trying to control how someone sees you and just be you! Validate yourself.
-Stop speaking up for other people when they have the ability to do so. This is codependency.
-Stop offering to help someone with their load, yet overwhelming yours. Also known as people pleasing.

This week, focus on You! Focus on your goals. Implement boundaries with yourself and your loved ones and let someone else take on responsibility. Remember, we can only control ourselves, and when you surrender and let go of control, I promise you will gain inner peace. Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

Check your circle.
Everyone comes into your life for a reason and a season. Is there anyone you have been holding onto whom time is up? Sometimes, we mistake people for being a forever friend. However, this is unfair to you, because as your grow and evolve, the way you relate to people will change too. Marinate on why someone is in your life and their role in your life. Do they add value to your life? Do they cause you pain or make you question their intentions? Are they continuously hurting you? If so, ask yourself why you are keeping them around? Do you have false beliefs around love & friendship? There is a difference between someone purposely hurting you and wishing bad on you and inadvertently hurting you. Most people are in our lives to teach us a lesson, help us grow, or to add value to it. Check your circle. If you constantly have to question someone's intentions and if they are being a good friend to you, then they likely are not good for you. Many of us hold onto people because, "we've been friends since high school" or "they are like family;" Family or not, years or not, it's ALWAYS QUALITY over QUANTITY. Stop keeping people in your life just because you are used to their ways. When someone's time is up, learn to let them go. Sit with the discomfort. Pain is only temporarily.
Have a great Monday & week on purpose, beautiful people!

How Common Are UTIs?
UTI's can impact men and women. However, women tend to get them more frequently because of their anatomy and the short distance from the urethra to the bladder. Despite this being a common condition, it is still unpleasant. If you ever had one, I am sure you probably wish to never experience them again. If you suffer from recurrent UTI's, you are not alone. There are things we can do to help reduce your risk and prevent them.
If you are having symptoms of a UTI, don't assume, book a virtual consult and drop off a urine specimen at a lab near you. We can also send you in a home kit. If you suffer from recurrent UTI's, we can discuss contributing factors and remedies to help decrease your risk.

Beyond|Med Telehealth: Formation Story

Beyond|Med Telehealth was formed by two African American nurse practitioners who joined together to improve, not only the physical health of individuals, but also their mental and emotional health. Sharee Clarke and Lonnie Jones, both posses several years of nursing and leadership experience and are experts in disease prevention and treatment, risk reduction and health education. Ironically, they were both born and raised in New Jersey, but were not connected until they met in the Metro Atlanta Area in 2015. From there, they learned that their personal and professional goals aligned to form a company that shared their most important values and mission to provide quality care to their patients. Therefore, Beyond|Med Telehealth was created to meet clients where they are, by providing a telemedicine platform with the aim of improving overall wellness. Now was their chance to finally have a platform where they could provide evidence-based care to patients in a way that was convenient and relatable to patients. The light bulb went off and their excitement created the momentum for the practice you see today.
