7 Things You Didn’t Know About Me That You’re Gonna Learn Today:

✨1. Ancient Wisdom: At age 19, I joined a spiritual community where I practiced Kemetic living. These ancient principles deeply influence my yoga practice, guiding my journey and teachings, blending the old with the new.

✨2. Teaching Roots: With over a decade of experience, I’ve been recognized in publications like Yoga Journal, Mantra Wellness Magazine, and Essence. It’s been an honor to share my passion and knowledge with such a wide audience.

✨3. D.C. Connection: As a proud D.C. community member, I love extending my wisdom and healing practices to uplift others locally and beyond. Each class and workshop is a step toward fostering a healthier, more connected community. I’m excited to get things going again!

✨4. Mother and Mentor: Beyond yoga, being a mother is a huge part of my identity. It’s a constant source of inspiration and strength, enriching my approach to teaching and community building.

✨5. Mindful Healing: I’m dedicated to creating self-sustaining healing practices that empower individuals and communities. Intentional living has changed my life and I want to share this with the world.

✨6. Left-handed Life: I’m left handed, which means my brain functions a bit differently. It’s great for creativity but a challenge when it comes to seating arrangements at restaurants. I’m always battling for elbow space! 💪🏾

✨7. Fun Fact: I once led a yoga session for over 500 people at the Smithsonian Solstice event! It was an incredible experience that highlighted the power of collective healing and shared energy.

✨Bonus: I’ve had two home births, and can’t nobody tell me s**t about nothin’! 💪🏾✨

If we haven’t met yet, please introduce yourself. If you’re shy, feel free to hop in my DM’s sans the funny business.

Much love!

What greater power exists than devotion? We literally have to dig deep and transform fear into faith, pain into purpose and commit ourselves wholeheartedly. To devote ourselves to anything takes a healthy balance of strength, receptivity, sacrifice and an unwavering passion to see something through. When we are in love we devote ourselves to sharing who we are with another, as parents we devote ourselves to being selfless and giving. Devotion to self could look like dedication to peace or finding an authentic connection to our own happiness. .
Most of us have either shown or felt devotion in some way and understand that it isn’t always an easy task. We are faced with challenges like self doubt, naysayers and overall frustration when things don’t seem to go the way we intend. Devotion invites us to explore what it means to be patient and trusting, two essential virtues needed to stay the course. .
Devotion can serve as a way to remind us of our own courage and connect our lives to something of purpose. Being devoted awakens a certain fire within us that transforms fear into light. We become warriors, fighting against self ignorance and those voices inside that tell us “we can’t.” With this light we are also able to inspire others to move beyond their fears and align themselves with something meaningful. What are you currently devoting yourself to? How do you stay devoted when you feel challenged? What do you think you can do to be more devoted?
Below I’ve listed a few things that I am devoted to. - Yazi (my daughter) - My yoga practice (challenging with work and mommyhood, but I’m dedicated).
- Family
- Sister friends
- Community uplifment
- My overall well-being - Yoga!
I can’t wait to here what you have to share! Let us know in the comments!

Hanumanasana / Yogi Splits is the pose of devotion. In this short video I break down a few ways to prep the body for the splits. This video is meant to be an addition to a full and well rounded practice.
