Remask America was founded with one goal: to do good. This same goal is the bedrock of the community where most of us found our place, and purpose in life. We have the greatest pride to be recognized by the community that we will always call home: Taylor University.

In the face of a pandemic, Taylor alumni joined forces with a Costa Rican swimsuit maker with a new vision to help provide America with face masks.

Earlier this month, we donated 20,000 of our reusable face masks to the National Children's Board in Costa Rica. Our masks will be worn by the officials and the children who are a part of this amazing organization. We're proud to help PANI combat the spread of COVID-19!

Meet our newest addition, the RA Adapt mask! We named it the Adapt for a couple reasons. 1.) We’ve all had to adapt to this new way of life during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the most visible is the adoption of masks. 2.) This is a hybrid mask that gives you a custom fit. The RA Adapt features adjustable tie-behind straps, and a continuous lower strap that allows you to rest it around your neck for easy on and off (and less risk of losing it!). This might be our favorite mask, but we want to know what YOU think!

Why should you wear a mask even if others don’t? Studies show that wearing a mask helps protect you to an extent from others who aren’t wearing masks, simply because your mask is stopping some of the large respiratory droplets. Why should we wear masks? According to the CDC “cloth face coverings are recommended as a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when the person wearing the cloth face covering coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice.” Not convinced? A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that when someone says one phrase, hundreds of droplets are expelled from the mouth ranging from 20–500 micrometers. They covered the speaker’s mouth with a damp cloth, and almost all of the droplets were stopped. By wearing a mask, we’re each containing our own respiratory droplets and doing our part in fighting COVID-19.

In a global pandemic, we must all work together to keep each other safe, so we’re thankful to see more and more people wearing masks in workplaces and in their daily lives when interacting with others.
